NFL fans won't have to worry about another band past its prime — The Who, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band — playing the halftime show at the Super Bowl in February.

The Black Eyed Peas have been named the halftime musical act for the 2011 Super Bowl at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, according to a report by SportsbyBrooks.

The band has prior experience playing on the big stage, being a part of the 2005 Super Bowl pregame show that was titled, "Bridging Generations."

The Black Eyed Peas also performed at the 2009 NFL Kickoff Concert in Pittsburgh.
