Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie promised Thursday that there would be no repeat of Janet Jackson's infamous "wardrobe malfunction" when the band plays at Super Bowl XLV in Arlington, Tex.

Fergie will be the first woman featured during the halftime show since Jackson's flesh was exposed during a controversial incident that made global headlines in 2004, USA Today reported.

"It is a challenge because you want to give a little sex appeal," Fergie said.

"But, you know, you don't want to get into any trouble. So we're very particular on the wardrobe. There will be no more malfunctions, and I think Janet's amazing. She's a great performer."

Fergie, a minority partner in the Miami Dolphins, will be joined on stage at Cowboys Stadium by bandmates will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo, and they have promised to heat up the crowd in what are expected to be freezing conditions Sunday.

"We always brings the heat," Taboo said. "Hopefully, we bring the heat because it's cold ... in Dallas."

Taboo said he once dreamed of playing professional football.

HALFTIME ACTS

The most memorable halftime shows in Super Bowl history have been music to our ears.

"I remember as a kid watching the halftime shows, watching Super Bowls. My uncle [Lynn Cain] used to play football for the Atlanta Falcons."

"I wanted to play football until I got a concussion, and then I didn't want to play football anymore," he added. "Now, representing my family, being part of the Super Bowl, it's a wonderful thing."

The game will see the Green Bay Packers square off against the Pittsburgh Steelers at 6:30pm ET Sunday.
