Comments on the Jacksonville Jaguars by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

Chris Berman (ESPN, 32) - Showdowns with Colts won't be for division title.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 31) - At least Blaine Gabbert looks like he's making progress, Maurice Jones-Drew is back, and Justin Blackmon looks like real deal.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 30) - Maurice Jones-Drew back with team, but without new contract.

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 32) - Last until I see more from passing attack. MJD's holdout won't help them get off to fast start.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 27) - Maurice Jones-Drew is back on Shad Khan's train, and all is right again. Jones-Drew will be back in form soon enough, but Blaine Gabbert's improvement - or lack thereof - will determine how far team goes.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 29) - With Maurice Jones-Drew back, Jaguars have chance.

Clark Judge (, 29) - MJD holdout the first in series of headaches for team in search of an identity.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 32) - If Jags avoid home blackouts this fall, entire marketing department should earn two-week vacation to Hawaii.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/, 32) - The best player, MJD hasn't been there since end of 2011 season and his leadership skills have eroded. Owner has dug in heels on contract extension talks, and team just committed to multiple games in London.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 29) - Will take time for Mike Mularkey to put stamp on franchise. A QB would help. Well, Gabbert looked like different guy in preseason and MJD is back and that pulls Jags from cellar.

Alex Marvez (, 25) - Even without running back Maurice Jones-Drew in preseason, the offense - particularly second-year quarterback Blaine Gabbert - looked much-improved under new coach Mike Mularkey.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 30) - Maurice Jones-Drew came back in nick of time, but this team still has some issues.
