News: The Patriots have signed Colvin, the Boston Globe reports. [+]
Impact: In his second stint with the Patriots, Colvin will provide some needed depth at outside linebacker with Adalius Thomas out and Pierre Woods having left Sunday's loss to the Steelers with a mouth injury. Colvin had trouble staying healthy when he was with the Patriots before, but he knows their system well and is pretty close to plug and play, conditioning permitted. ( RotoWire - Wed. Dec 3, 2008) |
News: With news that Matt Schaub is expected to start this week against Green Bay, Rosenfels will return to a backup role, the Houston Chronicle reports. [+]
Impact: Rosenfels has filled in the last four weeks while Schaub rehabbed a torn medial collateral ligament in his left knee. ( RotoWire - Wed. Dec 3, 2008) |

Texans lose early gamble, game
The Houston Texans lost a gamble, a challenge and, likely, their opener in the first five minutes of the season.
Willie Parker and the Pittsburgh Steelers made certain the Texans didn't get a second chance in a 38-17 win that was effectively over early in the second quarter.
Parker ran for 138 yards and three touchdowns and a near-perfect Ben Roethlisberger threw two scoring passes to Hines Ward in a Steelers rout Sunday that began with Houston's fourth-down failure on its opening possession.

News: Parker (knee) still isn't 100 percent but is expected to play Sunday afternoon against the Cowboys, coach Mike Tomlin said at his press conference Tuesday afternoon. [+]
Impact: "It's not an issue and it's probably not 100 percent either," Tomlin said of Parker's knee. "That's December football. We expect him to play for us. We need to do what we can letting him get into the game in the best condition, whether that includes a Wednesday practice remains to be seen." Parker continues to be a wild card. He can no longer play a full game and doesn't get all of the goal-line carries with Gary Russell now helping out. ( RotoWire - Tue. Dec 2, 2008) |
