The league has announced that its 2013 docket of games will be announced at 8 p.m. ET Thursday.

By this time of year, the NFL has usually revealed its full lineup as well as where the season opener will be played. Since 2004, that game was played at the home stadium of the defending Super Bowl champion.

The Baltimore Ravens, though, will open on the road Sept. 5 (Thursday night) because of a scheduling conflict with the Baltimore Orioles. The two franchises share parking arrangements and couldn’t reach an agreement that would allow both teams to play at their respective stadiums (M&T Bank Stadium and Camden Yards) on the same day.

The NFL also didn’t want to play the game on Sept. 4 (Wednesday night) because it would conflict with the Rosh Hashana holiday.

Besides their three divisional opponents, the Ravens are scheduled for road contests against Buffalo, Miami, Chicago, Detroit and Denver. The Broncos are the most attractive opening foe, as a Denver-Baltimore matchup would serve as a rematch of last season’s wild second-round playoff game. Baltimore won 38-35 in double overtime en route to winning Super Bowl XLVII.

According to television listings, the NFL originally planned to announce its schedule on April 16.
