News: Bowen was released by the Redskins on Friday, Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports.
Impact: The Redskins dumped a pair of veteran defensive linemen, releasing Bowen and Barry Cofield. The team recently signed fellow lineman Ricky Jean-Francois, who was released by the Colts earlier this week. Bowen had 41 tackles and six sacks back in 2011, but his career has otherwise barely registered from a statistical perspective.
