News: Vereen has reached an agreement with the Giants on a three-year, $12.35 million contract, Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports.
Impact: Rashad Jennings did a nice job on passing downs last season, but the Giants apparently want more of a receiving threat for the role. Jennings' injury history may also be a factor, especially with backup running back Andre Williams offering very little as a receiver. The move to New York probably won't do much for Vereen's fantasy value, as the Giants have a strong wideout group of Odell Beckham, Victor Cruz and Rueben Randle, along with a backfield that already includes Jennings and Williams. Vereen probably won't get many carries, and there will be plenty of competition for targets.

News: Vereen is expected to sign with the Giants, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Impact: Vereen would be a nice fit with the Giants, as the team's top two running backs, Rashad Jennings and Andre Williams, aren't quick enough to consistently get open. That's never been a problem for Vereen, who posted a 52-447-3 receiving line in 2014 after going for 47-427-3 in just eight games the previous season. A move to the Giants probably wouldn't lead to a big jump from Vereen's 2014 production, as Big Blue boasts a wideout corps of Odell Beckham, Victor Cruz, and Reuben Randle. Vereen's excellent per-game production in 2013 was largely spurred by Tom Brady lacking other options in the passing game.
