The New England Patriots showed the NFL world why they are the No. 1 team at this point after their thrashing of the host Buffalo Bills last week. They've already sewn up the No. 1 seed in the AFC and are playing at the top of their game at a critical juncture. It will be interesting to see if any other teams in the AFC can challenge them during the playoffs. But it won't be easy since the Patriots are undefeated at home this season.

In the NFC, the Atlanta Falcons finally lost a game at home, but it wasn't as though the New Orleans Saints were dominant. That game could have gone either way. The Falcons still deserve to be the NFC's top-ranked team at this point based on their performance over the course of the season.

Once the Jets get starting OLB Calvin Pace back from his foot injury, their defense should be the best in the NFL. The ground and pound rushing attack on offense is great, but can the Jets score when they really have to? The reason they couldn't close out the Colts in the playoffs was because they just couldn't score enough in the second half of that game to keep pace.Collapse Description

Sure, the preseason generally means nothing, but if bad vibes mean anything, then Dallas could be falling off a bit. Still, this team is loaded with too much talent from both sides of the ball not to be one of the NFL's top 10 teams this season.
