The New England Patriots showed the NFL world why they are the No. 1 team at this point after their thrashing of the host Buffalo Bills last week. They've already sewn up the No. 1 seed in the AFC and are playing at the top of their game at a critical juncture. It will be interesting to see if any other teams in the AFC can challenge them during the playoffs. But it won't be easy since the Patriots are undefeated at home this season.

In the NFC, the Atlanta Falcons finally lost a game at home, but it wasn't as though the New Orleans Saints were dominant. That game could have gone either way. The Falcons still deserve to be the NFC's top-ranked team at this point based on their performance over the course of the season.

However, they have two really tough games coming up against the NFC North's best in the Bears and Packers.Collapse Description

That loss back in Week 6 to the host Philadelphia Eagles might have actually been good for this team. Since then, the Falcons have won six games in a row and have played much better on both sides of the ball. They simply don't make many mistakes.

Chicago is one of the teams this season that many believe isn't worthy of their gaudy 9-3 record. However, Chicago is the NFL's healthiest team in the NFL at this point, and health is a huge key when you look at the top five teams on this list.
