News: When asked about Burfict (cervical strain) on Monday, coach Marvin Lewis said that the linebacker is "fine," ESPN's Coley Harvey reports. Impact: We'll take that to mean that Burfict's current injury isn't thought to be a major one, but at this stage, the linebacker's status for Sunday's game against the Ravens is unclear.(RotoWire, )

News: Burfict (neck) suffered a "cervical strain" during the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Colts, ESPN.com reports. Impact: Burfict was forced to exit Sunday's contest, after appearing to hit opposing quarterback Andrew Luck in the chest with the crown of his helmet. Following that play, Burfict was evaluated by the Bengals' medical staff, before ultimately being able to walk to the sideline under his own power; however, he did not return to the action. After suffering a concussion in both Week 1 and Week 2, Burfict returned last weekend and sustained another hit to the head. Now, in wake of Sunday's neck injury, last season's league-leader in tackles may be best served to take some more time off to preserve his future health. At the moment, Burfict's status moving forward is uncertain, making his situation worthwhile to monitor throughout this week. Should he miss time, Vincent Rey, who led Cincinnati with 16 tackles (seven solo) Sunday, would figure to be promoted to the starting lineup.(RotoWire, )

News: Burfict will miss the rest of Sunday's game against the Colts with a neck injury. Impact: When Burfict left Week 2's game against the Falcons, it was first classified as a neck injury, then later reclassified as a concussion. At any rate, the Bengals are now down three linebackers with Rey Maualuga and Emmanuel Lamur also out.(RotoWire, )

News: Burfict left Sunday's game against Indianapolis with a neck injury, the Cincinnati Enquirer's Paul Dehner Jr. reports. His return is questionable. Impact: Burfict lowered his head into Andrew Luck, while making a hit on the quarterback, leading to the injury. Burfict has been affected by multiple concussions this year, so even if this seems to be a neck problem, he'll likely go through an evaluation on the sideline, before being cleared to return.(RotoWire, )

News: The $25,000 fine assessed to Cincinnati linebacker Vontaze Burfict was confirmed Friday by the NFL. Impact: Burfict was fined for twisting an opponent's leg twice after the play was over in the third and fourth quarters of a 37-37 tie with Carolina. Panthers quarterback Cam Newton and tight end Greg Olsen were the victims. The fine was reported by The Associated Press earlier this week. (STATS, 5:05pm)

News: Burfict (concussion) has been fined $25,000 for twisting the ankles of opponents Cam Newton and Greg Olsen during Sunday's game versus the Panthers, ESPN reports. Impact: Burfict seemed to have targeted Newton and Olsen during Sunday's contest, as he was shown twisting both players' recently injured ankles in post-play piles. Fortunately for Burfict, he will not be suspended for his foul play, although his next infraction will cause him to be summoned to the league office. While the linebacker has also dealt with concussions stemming from helmet-to-helmet hits this season, Burfict is still expected to be available for Sunday's game at the Colts.(RotoWire, )

News: Burfict (head) returned to Sunday's game against Carolina, the Cincinnati Enquirer's Paul Dehner reports. Impact: Considering that he just returned from a concussion, we thought Burfict might be done for the day, after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit and leaving for the locker room, but he was back in the game minutes later after being evaluated.(RotoWire, )

News: Burfict left Sunday's game against the Panthers and was taken to the locker room, after taking a head-to-head hit, the Cincinnati Enquirer's Paul Dehner reports. His return is questionable. Impact: Given Burfict's concussion history, especially over the last few weeks, it would not be surprising if he is done for the day. The smart move for the Bengals would be to proceed with caution, if this is another potential concussion.(RotoWire, )

News: Burfict (concussion) is active for Sunday's game against the Panthers. Impact: Burfict was cleared by an independent neurologist this weekend, his final hurdle before being declared fit to play in this game. He has just eight tackles in two games, but he should get back to his high level of production soon, if he can stay healthy.(RotoWire, )

News: Burfict (concussion) practiced Friday and is listed as probable for Sunday's game against Carolina, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Impact: Burfict was a full practice participant all week and has been cleared by team doctors to return to action. Per the NFL's concussion protocol, he must also get the green light from an independent neurologist before he can play, but assuming that happens this weekend, Burfict should be safe to deploy against the Panthers.(RotoWire, )
