News: Smith was unable to haul in his only target in Thursday's preseason opener against the 49ers. Impact: With Dennis Pitta healthy and Steve Smith signed in the offseason, the younger Smith should have more competition for targets than he did last year. However, the former Maryland Terp will also have some help in terms of attracting defenders' attention, after playing alongside a slew of non-threatening receivers last year. Many don't realize just how bad things got for the Ravens in 2013, when undrafted rookie Marlon Brown finished second on the team with 524 receiving yards, followed by Jacoby Jones (455 in 12 games) and an entirely washed-up Dallas Clark (343). Smith is still the unquestioned No. 1 wideout in Baltimore, and while it's fair to expect a decrease from the 139 targets he saw last season, the speedster should improve his catch rate (46.7 percent) and yards per target (8.1). Entering the final year of his rookie deal, and still viewed as something less than a true No. 1 receiver, Smith has a hugely important season ahead of him.(RotoWire, )
