News: While on the field for 42-of-72 of the Patriots' snaps on offense in Friday's preseason win over the Panthers, Brady completed 17-of-21 passes for 204 yards and two touchdowns. Impact: We'd be surprised to see Brady suit up for the Patriots' preseason finale, but Friday's sharp effort in the team's 30-7 win Friday is an encouraging one and the eventual return of Aaron Dobson (foot) and star tight end Rob Gronkowski (knee) will further bolster the team's offense and, in turn, Brady's fantasy prospects.(RotoWire, )

News: Brady indicated that he and the Patriots' other key healthy players could see extended action in Friday's preseason game against the Panthers, reports. "Coach told us we're going to get a lot of work," Brady said Wednesday after practice. "What that means, I don't know. I don't think anyone ever knows with him. But we'll be prepared and ready to go for 60 minutes and hopefully it's a good 60 minutes." Impact: While Brady's reps Friday, however many he sees, will be of the tune-up variety, there will be some intrigue with regard to the team's backup QB pecking order, with Ryan Mallett and Jimmy Garoppolo still jostling for the No. 2 slot on the team's depth chart.(RotoWire, )

News: Brady completed 8-of-10 passes for 81 yards with a touchdown and a pick in Friday's preseason win over the Eagles. Impact: While the interception was returned for a TD, the play can at least be partly attributed to a miscommunication on a route between Brady and recently-signed reserve tight end Steve Maneri. Brady, who sat out the team's preseason opener last week, otherwise looked sharp in the contest. As he approaches the coming season, Brady is healthy, as are key passing targets Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola. Once wideout Aaron Dobson (foot) and star tight end Rob Gronkowski (knee) return to the mix, Brady will benefit from working with a solid and deep pass-catching corps that also includes the likes of Kenbrell Thompkins and Brandon LaFell, though at this stage, it's unclear what can be expected from Gronkowski out of the gate.(RotoWire, )

News: The New England Patriots' preseason opener was a night off for Tom Brady. The Patriots planned to start backup Ryan Mallett for Thursday night's game against the Washington Redskins. Impact: Brady already had plenty of work against the Redskins this week. The two teams held three days of joint practices at Washington's training camp.(STATS, 6:29pm)
