News: Rice (knee) has decided to retire amid injury concerns, reports. Impact: Rice's sudden retirement comes as he's recovering from a torn ACL suffered in Week 8 of last season. While the Seahawks felt comfortable enough with Rice's health to re-sign him in April, the wideout's lengthy injury history clearly weighed significantly on his decision to retire. Rice endured a myriad of complications, including shoulder, foot, and knee damage, to go with multiple concussions over his seven-year career. The former second-round pick enjoyed his best season in 2009, when he combined with then Vikings quarterback Brett Favre for 83 receptions, 1,312 yards, and eight touchdowns. However, since that breakout campaign, Rice missed 25 games across the subsequent four seasons. Now, Rice enters retirement at 27 years old.(RotoWire, )
