News: Though Hillman was limited Wednesday due to a shoulder injury that he suffered during practice, ESPN.com relays that the running back was able to stay on the field and do some work in drills as the session continued. Impact: "He just landed funny," coach John Fox said of the issue that caused Hillman to be listed as limited Wednesday. While the report does not confirm that Hillman is on track to play Sunday against the Patriots, that the running back stayed on the field after tweaking his shoulder appears to be a positive indicator on that front. More on Hillman's status Thursday.(RotoWire, )

News: Hillman 20 times for 109 yards Thursday. Impact: Hillman has rushed for 347 yards and averaged 4.8 per carry during the last four games. It's very much possible he'll remain the Broncos featured back when or if Montee Ball returns from injury.(STATS, 08:23am)

News: Hillman gained 109 yards on 20 carries and 29 yards on three receptions in Thursday's 35-21 win over the Chargers. Impact: Hillman played well and earned his second 100-yard outing in three weeks, but it was fellow running back Juwan Thompson who got a pair of one-yard touchdowns, while Hillman came close on a couple of longer plays. Though obviously frustrating for Hillman's owners, it's important to note that Thompson was lined up as a fullback in front of Hillman on both plays, rather than replacing him as the halfback. Thompson's size could get the rookie a few extra touches near the painted grass, but the Broncos have mostly kept Hillman in for goal-line situations in Montee Ball's (groin) absence. Ball is expected to miss at least one more game, leaving Hillman as the probable lead back against a shaky New England run defense. With the way he's played thus far, Hillman is making a strong case to keep a significant role in the offense upon Ball's eventual return to health.(RotoWire, )

News: Hillman rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns in Denver's victory over San Francisco. Impact: Hillman has filled in nicely for injured Broncos RB Montee Ball. He found the end zone for the first time Sunday, one week after rushing for 100 yards on 24 carries.(STATS, 12:17pm)

News: Hillman had 14 carries for 71 yards and two touchdowns, adding four receptions for 29 yards on four targets, in Sunday's 42-17 win over the 49ers. Impact: Juwan Thompson had six carries for 30 yards, and C.J. Anderson received just two totes for nine yards. In addition to dominating the touches, Hillman got all of the goal-line work, which included a one-yard scoring run late in the third quarter. His best play of the night was a 37-yard touchdown run earlier in the third quarter, with the long gain making up for an otherwise mediocre outing on the ground. With Montee Ball (groin) expected to miss another game or two, Hillman figures to get the start Thursday night, against a banged-up San Diego defense that struggled in its last two games. Given that Ball hadn't been playing well, Hillman is making a case that he deserves a significant role, even when his position mate is back to full health.(RotoWire, )
Mon. Oct 13, 2014
News: Hillman enjoyed a solid performance in his first career start, running 24 times for 100 yards and catching three passes for 16 yards. He did fumble once, though the Broncos recovered. Impact: Hillman looks to be Denver's top option at running back with Montee Ball sidelined. Juwan Thompson was the only other Denver back to carry the ball Sunday, rushing eight times for 38 yards.(STATS, 1:27pm)
