News: Griffin did not break any bones when he dislocated his left ankle Sunday and is expected to avoid surgery, the Washington Post reports. Impact: Per coach Jay Gruden, there's still no exact timetable for Griffin's return, but there is some optimism that the QB could be healthy before the end of the season. "We'll know in a few more weeks as far as how long he will be out," Gruden noted Monday. "We're going to send his results of the MRI off to Dr. [Robert] Anderson, a foot and ankle specialist, and get it casted up and we'll just go from there." Moreover, Gruden added that Griffin will definitely not be placed on IR by the team. In the meantime, Kirk Cousins will start at quarterback for Washington, backed up by Colt McCoy.(RotoWire, )

News: Griffin indicated that a Monday morning MRI revealed no fractures in his ankle, Mike Jones of Washington Post reports. Impact: While it's clear that Griffin is going to miss time after suffering a dislocated ankle Sunday, it appears as though he could avoid surgery. There's still no precise timetable for his recovery, however, with Kirk Cousins now in line to handle the team's QB duties in the coming weeks.(RotoWire, )

News: Depending on Monday's MRI, Griffin (ankle) could be out eight weeks or several months, the Washington Post reports. Impact: The severity depends on if there are any broken bones or torn ligaments in the ankle. In any scenario, it sounds like Griffin will be out for an extended period.(RotoWire, )

News: Coach Jay Gruden confirmed that Griffin suffered a dislocated ankle Sunday against the Jaguars, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Impact: Meanwhile, Schefter speculates that the injury could be a season-ender for Griffin, but we'll await further details on that front. Kirk Cousins thus merits a pickup in most fantasy formats, and is the obvious priority addition for those who roster Griffin.(RotoWire, )

News: NFL Network's Ian Rapoport indicates that the fear is that Griffin suffered a dislocated left ankle Sunday against the Jaguars. Impact: We'll await further info, which should emerge after tests are performed on Griffin's ankle, but in such a scenario, he'd be in line to miss extended action. News: Two media outlets are reporting that Robert Griffin III says an MRI showed no broken bones in his injured left ankle, leaving open the possibility that he could play again this season. Impact: The Washington Post and ESPN.com reported that the Washington Redskins quarterback said Monday that he "positive news" on the results from the exam on the dislocated left ankle he suffered in the first quarter of the Redskins' win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The injury is often accompanied by a fracture that requires season-ending surgery. If he doesn't need surgery, Griffin could perhaps return in about two months.(STATS, 12:47pm)

News: Griffin (ankle) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Jaguars. Impact: Griffin was carted to the Redskins' locker room, after suffering a non-contact injury to his left ankle Sunday. The signal-caller appeared visibly distraught by the injury and was wearing an air cast while leaving the field. While Griffin will not return to face the Jaguars, it's unknown if his latest injury will sideline him beyond Sunday's contest. With Griffin out, Kirk Cousins will assume quarterback duties for the Redskins.(RotoWire, )

News: Griffin was carted off during Sunday's game with an aircast on his left ankle and foot, CBS Sports reports. Impact: Griffin suffered a non-contact injury while making a throw along the Redskins' sideline and was down for quite some time, before being carted to Washington's locker room. Although he was wearing a cast over his left ankle, it's worth noting that Griffin's surgically repaired left knee seemed unaffected by his latest injury incident. Nonetheless, the Redskins' quarterback appeared visibility distraught, while heading to the locker room for further evaluation. With Griffin listed as questionable to return, Kirk Cousins will command Washington's offense until further notice.(RotoWire, )

News: Griffin completed 29-of-37 passes for 267 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in Sunday's 17-6 loss at Houston. He rushed for just two yards on three carries, and lost a fumble on a botched handoff attempt. Impact: Griffin was sacked three times, and under considerable pressure, so it's not entirely surprising that he failed to generate much scoring. On the flip side, Griffin has enough talent around him to at least score an offensive touchdown. He should see his numbers improve in Week 2, as he'll head home to take on Jacksonville, which allowed 322 yards and two touchdowns to Nick Foles on Sunday.(RotoWire, )
