News: McDonald recorded two tackles in Sunday's loss to the Bears. Impact: McDonald continues to play, despite being under investigation for a domestic dispute. The team is opting to let the legal process play out before issuing any sort of punishment. McDonald led all defensive players with 49 snaps Sunday. He's a far better real football player than an IDP asset, as a non-pass-rushing 3-4 defensive end doesn't produce a lot of tackles or sacks.(RotoWire, )

News: San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York says he will let "due process take its course" before deciding whether to discipline Ray McDonald after the defensive tackle was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. Impact: York says he understands not everybody agrees with the decision to let McDonald play. The matter comes amid mounting public pressure following new video showing Ray Rice knocking out his then-fiancee in an elevator. News: San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said McDonald, who was arrested in a domestic violence case last week, will play against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. "As it stands now, yes he will play," Harbaugh said Friday. "There are two principles woven together here. I feel the way the facts are, what's known, he has the liberty to play the game." Impact: McDonald has been late for practice at least twice this week taking care of personal business, but Harbaugh said the seven-year veteran has been fine in practice. McDonald has missed four games since 2008 with injuries. As a rookie, he was limited and appeared in nine games. The 49ers are 4-7 when he's out of the lineup.(STATS, 10:38pm)

News: The 49ers will allow McDonald to play against Dallas on Sunday despite his Sunday arrest on a felony domestic violence charge, CSN Bay Area reports. Impact: The 49ers are standing behind the unresolved nature of McDonald's legal situation as a sufficient reason to let him keep playing. He's unlikely to make much of an IDP impact, but he'll help the 49ers stop the run.(RotoWire, )
