News: Williams and Sammy Watkins (ribs) started Saturday's preseason game against the Steelers, ESPN's Mike Rodak reports. Impact: Once again getting the nod ahead of Robert Woods, Williams managed just one catch for 10 yards on one target. While his preseason hasn't been particularly impressive, Williams also hasn't done anything to hurt his standing among the Bills' wideouts. He's still the favorite to get most of the playing time across from Sammy Watkins in two-wide formations, although Woods looks like a viable threat to eat into Williams' snaps. Once you also account for surprising slot man Chris Hogan, the Bills have quite a few receiving threats for a team that doesn't figure to have a ton of success in the passing game.(RotoWire, )

News: Williams and quarterback EJ Manuel have been developing a nice rapport in the red zone, BuffaloBills.com reports. Said the veteran receiver, "I always tell them there's a 96-percent chance–the other 4-percent is their fault. I always tell them, throw it to the clouds, I'm going to find a way to bring it down." Impact: Williams has never had more than 65 catches in a season and if the Buffalo receiving group stays in modestly good health, there may not be enough footballs to go around to approach that number. That said, the Bills were awful in the red zone last season and Williams and Scott Chandler may be the only natural threats they have in close range, so perhaps Williams, who has 25 receiving touchdowns in four NFL seasons, can become Manuel's go-to guy in those situations.(RotoWire, )

News: Williams started Friday's preseason game against the Panthers and caught one pass for 28 yards on his only target. Impact: Though Robert Woods is listed No. 2 on the depth chart, Williams again got the start across from Sammy Watkins. With Chris Hogan also drawing first-team looks this preseason, the competition for targets behind Watkins may be fierce.(RotoWire, )
