News: Stafford completed 27-of-48 passes for 291 yards with one touchdown and one interception Sunday against the Panthers. Impact: Stafford missed an opportunity for another touchdown when Calvin Johnson had one squeak through his hands in the end zone, but it was an otherwise high-volume passing game. He connected with eight different players, with Johnson leading the way with six catches on 13 targets for 83 yards, though he was under constant pressure all game, taking four sacks. His passing volume could come down in Week 3 against the Packers, who allowed 146 rushing yards the Jets on Sunday, though if the Lions fall behind, Stafford will be asked to get them back in the game.(RotoWire, )

News: Stafford completed 22-of-32 passes for 346 yards and two touchdowns in Monday's 35-14 win over the Giants, while adding four carries for two yards and another score. Impact: Though he didn't have the rushing yards to show for it, Stafford was surprisingly effective with his feet, as he not only rushed for a touchdown but also scrambled outside of the pocket on both of his scoring strikes to Calvin Johnson. If not for three kneels, Stafford would've finished his night with just the one carry for a five-yard touchdown. Meanwhile, most of his damage through the air came courtesy of starting wideouts Johnson and Golden Tate, who combined for a Megatron-heavy 13-257-2 receiving line. After opening the season with one of his better games in recent memory, Stafford draws a tougher opponent next week in a road game against the Panthers.(RotoWire, )
