News: Moreno (knee) is unsure if he will play in Saturday's preseason game against Dallas, the Palm Beach Post reports. Impact: Moreno has made good progress in his recovery from a knee scope, but is still trying to work himself into game shape. He spent part of practice Tuesday and Wednesday doing conditioning drills. The Dolphins will see how he progresses later this week before determining if he will play against the Cowboys on Saturday. During his recent absence, Moreno (who saw some first-team reps Wednesday) lost some ground to Lamar Miller in the team's starting running back competition, but assuming no setbacks, there's still time for Moreno to make a push for the assignment in advance of the Dolphins' season opener.(RotoWire, )

News: Moreno was a big part of the Dolphins' passing game at practice Thursday, according to the Palm Beach Post, with the report adding that the running back saw some first-team reps with the team's offense. Impact: While coach Joe Phiblin didn't say whether or not Moreno will play Saturday against the Bucs, that's a possibility. "He's looking better," Philbin said of Moreno, who is bouncing back from a June knee scope. "I think he's looking more comfortable with the offense and the reps and so forth. We're going to watch the tape and we'll see." In Moreno's recent absence, he lost some ground to Lamar Miller in the team's starting running back equation, but assuming no setbacks, there's still time for Moreno to make his case for the assignment in advance of Week 1.(RotoWire, )

News: Moreno (knee) participated in 11-on-11 drill work Monday for the first time since returning from his June knee scope, the Miami Herald reports. Impact: Moreno reportedly appeared to have a good burst of speed during Monday's session, although he acknowledged that he still needs to work himself into full football shape. That being said, Moreno's return to practice should certainly boost his chances of pushing Lamar Miller for Miami's starting running back job. While it's unknown whether Moreno will be available for the Dolphins' next preseason game, it's encouraging that he'll now be able to learn new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor's scheme through on-field work.(RotoWire, )

News: Moreno, who came off the PUP list last week, appeared to make some strides at Sunday's practice, reports. Impact: The report notes that Moreno did some competitive work in one-on-one passing drills, while making some sharp cuts on the knee that was scoped in late June. It's uncertain if Moreno -- who also turned in some nice catches during Sunday's drills -- will play in this coming Saturday's preseason contest against the Bucs, but what is clear is that the sooner he gets back to full strength, the more he'll have a chance to push Lamar Miller for carries in the Miami backfield.(RotoWire, )

News: Moreno (knee) is not expected to play Friday night, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Impact: Moreno has only one practice under his belt so it would make little to no sense to risk him in a meaningless preseason game. The good news however is that he should be more than ready to share the rushing load with Lamar Miller when the games count.(RotoWire, )

News: Moreno has been activated by the Miami Dolphins after recovering from a left knee injury that forced him to miss the first 12 days of training camp. Impact: Moreno came off the physically unable to perform list before Wednesday's practice and joined the competition for a starting job. Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas were the primary ball carriers last season for the Dolphins, who ranked 26th in the NFL in rushing. Both remain on the roster, and Miller has looked good this summer with the first unit. (STATS, 10:19am)
