News: GM Doug Whaley said Friday that Alonso's surgery to repair a torn left ACL went well, according to team's official site. "He had his surgery, and from all the reports we're getting, it was a successful surgery," GM Doug Whaley said, "We're expecting him to be back after camp, let his swelling go down and do some rehab there. But he'll be back in Buffalo when we break camp." Impact: Alonso is still expected to miss the entire 2014 season, but given that the injury happened so early in the summer and the surgery's out of the way, he should have plenty of time to hit the ground running for the 2015 campaign.(RotoWire, )

News: Alonso (knee) was placed on the active/non-football injury list on Wednesday, ESPN reports. Impact: Alonso suffered a torn left ACL during a workout this month and is now slated to miss the entirety of this season. As a rookie last year, Alonso ranked third in the league with 159 tackles. As such, his absence creates a significant void at weakside linebacker in Buffalo's defense. Linebackers Nigel Bradham and Keith Rivers are expected to fill Alonso's role this season, while former Steeler Stevenson Sylvester was also signed by the Bills on Wednesday.(RotoWire, )
