News: Jones got the start in Friday's preseason game against the Lions and finished with two receptions for 29 yards. Impact: While Jones is still listed behind Andre Holmes on the unofficial depth chart, he saw five targets in the first half Friday whereas Holmes didn't see a pass thrown his way until the final drive of the third quarter. Jones was inked to a three-year deal in the offseason, but the team seems intent on making him earn a job along the outside. Despite his age (30), Jones should be up to the task, after hauling in 310 passes for 4,305 yards and 37 touchdowns during his eight seasons in Green Bay.(RotoWire, )

News: Jones caught two passes for 29 yards on five targets in Friday's preseason game against the Lions. Impact: Jones was active in the offense from the start of Friday's game, though his five targets produced just three catches, one of which went to the other team. Andre Holmes, who is surprisingly listed ahead of Jones on the depth chart, didn't see a pass until the end of the third quarter. There has been some concern about Jones' role in the offense, but he still figures to start across from Rod Streater. The Oakland offense doesn't figure to be particularly good, and Streater has a strong case to be the team's most frequently targeted receiver.(RotoWire, )

News: Jones is listed behind Andre Holmes and Rod Streater on the Raiders' unofficial depth chart. Impact: Take this with the usual grain of salt, as the depth chart is obviously subject to change over the course of the preseason, but the 30-year-old Jones may have a tough time beating out the team's younger options. By all accounts the hamstring injury that gave Jones some problems in minicamp is no longer an issue, though it may have set him back in the competition for playing time. Even if Jones does manage to earn a starting job for Oakland, he may be hard-pressed to match his 93 targets from a season ago, and of course he'll have Matt Schaub throwing him the ball and not Aaron Rodgers.(RotoWire, )
