News: Manuel completed 3-of-7 passes for 56 yards in Thursday's preseason finale against the Lions. Impact: Manuel played three drives and took two sacks, failing to produce any points. It was a rather uneventful end to his poor preseason, but the bigger concern is that Sammy Watkins left with an aggravation of his ribs injury. On a more positive note for the Buffalo offense, Manuel gets to open his season against a Chicago defense that struggled badly last year.(RotoWire, )

News: Manuel is expected to see action during Thursday's preseason finale against the Lions, BuffaloBills.com reports. Impact: While a number of teams are sitting their top dog for the last preseason contest, Manuel could use the experience more than those guys and, in what's been a poor preseason for the second-year QB, needs to end with some positive vibe before facing a hostile crowd in Chicago for Week 1. The Bills also want to get newcomer Jordan Palmer a good look, and probably Jeff Tuel as well so they can decide who should be Manuel's top backup. Therefore, don't expect Manuel to play much more than a quarter, if that.(RotoWire, )

News: Manuel completed 19-of-28 passes for 198 yards, with one touchdown and one interception in Saturday's preseason game against the Buccaneers. Impact: While the interception was caused by TE Scott Chandler falling down on a route, Manuel still struggled during a first half which saw the Buffalo offense fail to score. The second-year QB didn't record any rushing attempts in the game, and he was sacked four times, losing one fumble. Things went much better in the second half, as Manuel led the Bills to a pair of third-quarter touchdown drives before being pulled from the game. Although Manuel hasn't been terrible this preseason, the Bills' inability to throw downfield has been a consistent theme. To be fair, Sammy Watkins (ribs) left last week's game early, and didn't suit up Saturday.(RotoWire, )

News: Manuel completed 17-of-27 passes for 148 yards in Saturday's preseason loss to the Steelers. He didn't throw a touchdown and had one interception, averaging 5.5 yards per attempt to go with a 62.0 rating. Impact: It was a so-so outing for Manuel, though the dinking and dunking we've seen lately isn't going to cut it, if the Bills are serious about being a playoff team this season. He's moved the ball for the most part during three preseason games, though the first-team offense is having a hard time generating points, something that plagued the unit last season, especially in the red zone.(RotoWire, )
