News: Brees didn't practice Monday due to the upcoming birth of his fourth child. Impact: Brees was brought along slowly in training camp due to a left oblique strain, pushing back his preseason debut to Saturday at Indianapolis. He appeared to be in midseason form, completing 9-of-15 passes for 128 yards and two scores. While two full days remain before the Saints' preseason finale Thursday against the Ravens, Brees won't take the field anyway, handing off QB reps to Luke McCown and Ryan Griffin.(RotoWire, )

News: Making his 2014 preseason debut, Brees (oblique) completed 9-of-15 passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns Saturday against the Colts. Impact: Brees led the Saints to touchdowns on two of his three drives before giving way to Luke McCown. Draft the reliable veteran as you normally would, with his oblique issue seemingly in the rear-view mirror. Darren Sproles and Lance Moore are gone, but the Saints drafted Brandin Cooks in the first round, and Kenny Stills and Nick Toon are a year older. It also seems that Marques Colston is feeling much better than he did at this time last year, after dealing with injuries throughout much of last season.(RotoWire, )

News: Brees (oblique) is slated to suit up for Saturday's preseason contest against the Colts, ESPN's Mike Triplett reports. Impact: The report notes that Brees, who had been slowed by a strained oblique, looked sharp at Wednesday's practice, while suggesting that the Saints' star QB is likely to play for about a half in Saturday's game, the team's third preseason tilt.(RotoWire, )

News: Brees fully participated in practice Sunday for the first time since straining his left oblique muscle two weeks ago. Impact: Brees hasn't missed a start due to injury since coming to New Orleans in 2006 and says he plans on playing against Indianapolis on Saturday night in the Saints' third preseason game. News: Brees (oblique) participated in full-team drills during Sunday's practice, ESPN's Mike Triplett reports. Impact: Now that he's evidently ready to put his oblique issue behind him, look for Brees to get in some work in during next Saturday's preseason tilt against the Colts. He remains a top-three quarterback option in nearly all fantasy leagues entering the season.(RotoWire, )
