News: Brees completed 24-of-34 passes for 297 yards, with a passing touchdown, a rushing touchdown and an interception in Thursday's 28-10 win over the Panthers. Impact: The Saints opened the game with two long drives that ended on Brees turnovers, the first being an interception that took an odd bounce off the chest of a sliding Kenny Stills, while the second was knocked out of the quarterback's hands by teammate Erik Lorig. The team then punted on three straight drives, before a Cam Newton fumble set Mark Ingram up for a quick three-yard touchdown. Brees led the Saints on an 85-yard march for seven points before halftime, and the Saints added two 80-yard touchdown drives in the second half. The first of those drives ended with a one-yard quarterback sneak on 4th-and-goal, giving Brees his first rushing touchdown of the season. While it wasn't exactly a dominant performance, Brees and the New Orleans offense mostly played well to overcome the somewhat fluky early turnovers. Brees has an interesting stretch of the schedule coming up, with three consecutive home games against the 49ers, Bengals and Ravens, in that order. The matchups may not be as tough as they sound, however, as all three defenses are dealing with significant injuries, and Brees has long been dominant at the Superdome.(RotoWire, )

News: Brees completed 27-of-32 passes for 311 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 44-23 win over the Packers. Impact: Brees added to his track record of dominant primetime performances at the Superdome, leading the Saints to points on eight of their nine competitive drives, including a run of four consecutive touchdowns in the second half. The near-flawless showing was by far his best performance, in what's otherwise been a disappointing season, as he previously had just one game without an interception and no games with more than two touchdowns. Just as encouraging for Brees' owners as the quarterback's own performance, star tight end Jimmy Graham (shoulder) looked fairly healthy, while rookie wideout Brandin Cooks had his first big game since Week 1. Brees could be headed for another big primetime showing in Week 9, as the Saints face a shaky Panthers defense in Carolina on Thursday night.(RotoWire, )

News: Brees had at least 340 yards for the third straight game Sunday but New Orleans fell 24-23 in Detroit. Impact: Brees went 28 for 45 for 342 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. Despite racking up the yardage, the Saints quarterback has a lackluster 6-to-5 TD-to-INT ratio in the last three games. Brees does have two TDs in five consecutive games and at least one in 26 straight. He owns the NFL's longest streak at 54 games and has thrown at least one in 80 of the last 81.(STATS, 3:38pm)

News: Brees completed 28-of-45 passes for 342 yards with two touchdowns and one interception Sunday against the Lions. Impact: Brees connected with nine different receivers, though tight end Jimmy Graham, who was a surprise start, after taking a pain-killing injection in his injured shoulder, failed to catch both passes thrown his way. The cumulative stats were good, but Brees simply missed too many receivers Sunday, which ultimately allowed the Lions to come back from a 17-3 deficit to win 24-23. Brees has now thrown for at least 340 yards in three straight games, but he's got a 6:5 TD:INT over that span and will next face a Packers defense that is ranked in the top-five in fewest passing yards allowed per game this season.(RotoWire, )
