News: Pitta (hip) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports. Impact: Tuesday's move was primarily procedural, as Pitta was ruled out for the season a day earlier. Phillip Supernaw was promoted from the practice squad to take Pitta's place on the roster.(RotoWire, )

News: Coach John Harbaugh confirmed that Pitta underwent hip surgery and is out for season, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Impact: With Pitta out of the Ravens' tight end mix, veteran Owen Daniels is in line to see added responsibilities in the Ravens' passing offense, while rookie tight end Crockett Gillmore and fullback Kyle Juszczyk (who can also play TE) are candidates to see added opportunities going forward, as well.(RotoWire, )

News: Pitta is slated to undergo surgery to repair damage in his right hip, which he dislocated Sunday, the Baltimore Sun reports. Impact: The report adds that Pitta -- who dislocated his right hip last season as well -- also likely suffered a fracture Sunday, a situation that could well end his season, and possibly jeopardize his career. In Pitta's absence, look for veteran Owen Daniels to see added responsibilities in the Ravens' offense, with rookie tight end Crockett Gillmore and fullback Kyle Juszczyk (who can play TE) also candidates to see added looks going forward.(RotoWire, )

News: Pitta (hip) suffered a dislocated hip and will remain in the hospital overnight, the Baltimore Sun reports. Impact: Pitta suffered the injury during Sunday's game and was carted off the field in the second quarter. It's the second time he's dislocated the hip, which could further extend his absence. "A second fracture and dislocation to the same hip is relatively rare," said an orthopedic surgical specialist cited in the Baltimore Sun's report. "This is a significant trauma. It's very concerning. It doesn't bode well for his career. Even to do this one time is unusual, but twice is very bad." The Ravens have not provided a prognosis at this point, but Pitta will surely miss multiple weeks, and it's possible the injury could end his season. He'll undergo an MRI this week to determine if any ligaments are damaged, in addition to the dislocation. Pitta ranks second on the team in receiving this season, catching 16 passes for 125 yards.(RotoWire, )

News: Though an initial examination revealed no fracture, the Ravens still fear that Pitta suffered a fracture in his right hip during Sunday's game, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports. Impact: Pitta, who suffered a fracture and dislocation in the same hip during training camp last year, has already been diagnosed with another dislocation. He's likely looking at a mult-week absence, but while a fracture would presumably end his season, a dislocation alone might allow him to return before the end of the year. Owen Daniels is positioned to take over as the top tight end, with rookie Crockett Gilmore next up on the depth chart.(RotoWire, )

News: Pitta has undergone surgery to repair a dislocated right hip and is done for the year. Impact: The injury occurred in Sunday's game against Cleveland, when Pitta went down without being touched and had to be removed from the field on a cart. It's the same injury that sidelined Pitta for much of last season. (STATS, 1:34pm)

News: An initial diagnosis on Pitta's injured hip revealed no fracture, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports. Impact: While Pitta was fortunate to avoid a fracture to his hip for the second consecutive season, a lengthy absence isn't off the table just yet. The Ravens will surely evaluate their tight end more closely once he returns to Baltimore, after which a clearer recovery timetable could become available. Still, Pitta owners should at least scout the waiver wire for potential replacement options, if it's revealed he'll need to miss some time as a result of this latest hip injury.(RotoWire, )

News: Pitta (hip) was taken to a Cleveland hospital for further evaluation on his injury, Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports. Impact: The fact that the Ravens chose not to wait until the team landed in Baltimore to check out Pitta's injury would seem to raise the alarms on a long absence. Expect the Ravens to provide a more definitive diagnosis of his condition after the hospital visit.(RotoWire, )

News: Pitta left Sunday's game against the Browns due to a right hip injury. Impact: Pitta went down without any contact after catching a screen pass, and then immediately grabbed for his right leg. He was down for a few minutes before being carted off the field in obvious pain. Pitta missed the first 12 games last season because of a fracture and dislocation of the same right hip. His absence will likely lead to a significant increase in snaps for fellow tight end Owen Daniels.(RotoWire, )

News: Pitta was carted off the field Sunday with an apparent leg injury, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports. Impact: The injury looked to be fairly serious for Pitta, who fell to the field untouched and appeared unable to move his right leg. Pitta missed all but four games last season with a fractured and dislocated hip, and the Ravens can only hope he avoided something similar this time around. Further information on his condition should be made available by the end of the game.(RotoWire, )
