News: Hoyer took the Browns down the field and to something they haven't had in 10 years - a win in the home opener. He directed an 85-yard drive to set up Billy Cundiff's 29-yard field goal with three seconds left, giving Cleveland a 26-24 win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Impact: Hoyer went 8 of 11 for 77 yards on the last drive and finished 24 of 40 for 204 yards and a TD.(STATS, 01:22am)

News: Hoyer completed 24-of-40 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Saints. Impact: While it wasn't a great fantasy performance, Hoyer did enough to lead the Browns to a surprising 26-24 victory. First-round pick Johnny Manziel finally made his NFL debut, but he didn't do anything to make Hoyer nervous for his starting job. Hoyer connected with eight different receivers, while throwing 22 of his passes to wide receivers Andrew Hawkins (six catches for 70 yards) and Miles Austin (six catches for 44 yards and a touchdown), a higher total than in Week 1 that was likely the result of missing tight end Jordan Cameron, who was out with a shoulder injury. Hoyer's job appears safe for now and he'll try to continue his solid play in Week 3 against the Ravens.(RotoWire, )

News: Hoyer completed 19-of-31 passes for 230 yards and one touchdown Sunday against the Steelers. Impact: Hoyer really struggled in the first half, completing just 4-of-11 passes and the Browns trailed 27-3 going into the break. However, he completely turned it around in the second half, including a nine-yard touchdown pass to Travis Benjamin with 11:15 left in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 27. While the Browns ultimately lost on a last-second field goal, Hoyer did more than enough to show why he deserves to be the starter, so much so that backup first-round pick Johnny Manziel didn't play a single snap Sunday, despite talk of using him in certain packages.(RotoWire, )
