News: Pierce, who left practice early Saturday, practiced Sunday, Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports. Impact: Pierce, who is bouncing back from offseason rotator cuff surgery on his right shoulder, downplayed his early exit Saturday, with his presence at practice Sunday supporting the notion that he hasn't experienced any notable injury setbacks. With teammate Ray Rice facing a two-game suspension to start the season, a healthy Pierce is in line for an expanded role in the Ravens' backfield out of the gate.(RotoWire, )

News: Despite walking out of practice early with a team doctor Saturday, Pierce said he is not injured, the Baltimore Sun reports. Impact: Pierce relayed the information in a since-deleted tweet, so the whole situation was managed a bit oddly, but offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak also said that he heard nothing regarding an injury to Pierce. Pierce remains the likely starter during Ray Rice's two-game suspension, health permitting.(RotoWire, )

News: With Ray Rice suspended for the first two games of the upcoming campaign, Pierce (shoulder) is in line to temporarily take over the Ravens' starting RB role early on, the Baltimore Sun reports. Impact: Pierce, who is coming off offseason shoulder surgery, is expected to be a go for training camp and assuming his health, he is in a position to fill in for Rice for the first couple of weeks of the 2014 season. Veteran back Justin Forsett and rookie Lorenzo Taliaferro are also candidates for expanded duties out of the gate, but for the time being it looks like those who draft Pierce should get at least a couple of starts out of him. While Rice figures to be given the opportunity to reclaim his starting job upon his return, a strong effort on Pierce's part in his stead could lead to Pierce remaining a key cog in the Ravens' ground game beyond Week 2.(RotoWire, )

News: Pierce, who underwent offseason rotator cuff surgery, indicated that he is fully cleared medically, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports. Impact: Moreover, the report indicates that Pierce (who is officially listed by the Ravens at 230 pounds) said that his weight is presently down to 223 pounds. Now healthy and slimmed down, Pierce could be in line for an expanded role early on, with teammate Ray Rice potentially facing discipline from the NFL.(RotoWire, )
