News: Davis completed 30-of-42 passes for 327 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Cowboys. Impact: Shaun Hill was active for the game and appeared to be on the cusp of starting, before the team ultimately made the late call to go with Davis. He had by far his best game of the season, connecting with eight different receivers while throwing touchdowns to wide receivers Brian Quick and Austin Pettis, and tight end Lance Kendricks. He did throw a pick-six that put the Cowboys up by 10 with less than six minutes remaining, but he was otherwise very solid. Head coach Jeff Fisher has repeatedly said that Hill will be the starter when he's fully healthy, but Davis made a great case for the job, something that Fisher will have to consider over their Week 4 bye.(RotoWire, )

News: Davis was announced as the Rams' starting QB in advance of Sunday's game against the Cowboys, ESPN's Nick Wagoner reports. Impact: The Rams took the call down to the wire, but Davis will draw Sunday's start at QB, after all.(RotoWire, )

News: Davis' teammate, Shaun Hill (quad) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. Impact: Previous reports suggested that the Rams were expected to start Davis in Sunday's contest, but in advance of the game, the team has yet to announce a starter at QB, with ESPN's Nick Wagoner noting that both QB's took pre-game reps. There's enough uncertainly here leading up to kickoff to make either QB a risky roll.(RotoWire, )

News: Shaun Hill will test his quadriceps before Sunday's game, but Davis is still expected to get the start, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Impact: With Hill barely practicing this past week and Davis leading the Rams to a win last Sunday, it would be a big surprise to see Davis not get the start. He hasn't thrown a touchdown yet this year, but has been efficient and mistake-free.(RotoWire, )

News: Davis is expected to start against Dallas on Sunday over Shaun Hill (thigh), the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Impact: Davis followed up his strong preseason with a mostly encouraging two-week stretch to start the regular season, completing 38-of-52 passes for 427 yards and one interception. He'll likely get a chance to keep it going against Dallas this week, though there doesn't appear to be much fantasy upside here.(RotoWire, )

News: Davis took the bulk of the snaps with the first-team Thursday, with Shaun Hill still limited by injury, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Impact: With Davis playing decently in a win last week, the Rams will likely give him the start again if Hill is not 100 percent healthy. Davis had 233 yards passing on 16 completions last week, but had an interception and threw no touchdown passes. With an anemic Rams offense that's scored one touchdown so far this year, you're better off looking in other directions than Davis.(RotoWire, )

News: Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said after Sunday's win over the Bucs that Davis' teammate Shaun Hill (thigh) will be the starting quarterback once he's healthy. Impact: Though he didn't account for any touchdowns, Davis completed 22-of-29 passes for 233 yards in Sunday's 19-17 road win over the Bucs. While his performance was admirable, Davis may be headed back to the bench as soon as next Sunday.(RotoWire, )

News: Davis is expected start at quarterback for Shaun Hill (thigh) in Sunday's contest at Tampa Bay, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Impact: Davis entered for an injured Hill after halftime in Week 1, completing 16-of-23 passes for 192 yards and an interception. Perhaps taking first-team reps will result in a more productive outing, but Davis has yet to reveal his worth in fantasy. In any case, Hill is waiting in the wings to take over, no matter his level of health.(RotoWire, )

News: Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch believes that Davis will draw the start at QB for the Rams on Sunday. Impact: Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Shaun Hill is slated to test out his shoulder in pre-game warmups, so such an outcome is not certain, but at this stage, it appears as though the Rams could well roll with Davis in their 4:05 ET kickoff against the Bucs.(RotoWire, )

News: Davis is the likely starter Sunday against Tampa Bay, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Impact: Shaun Hill barely practiced during the week, so it's a stretch to believe he'd get the start. Davis was serviceable in cleanup duty last week, but still hasn't proven he has the mettle to be a starter in the NFL. Owners should look elsewhere for QB help in Week 2.(RotoWire, )
Fri. Sep 12, 2014
News: Davis took snaps with the first team in practice Friday with Shaun Hill still sidelined, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Impact: It will likely be a game-time decision whether Hill or Davis will start Sunday. Davis was 16 of 23 for 192 yards and an interception in relief work last Sunday, so even if he plays, he shouldn't be relied upon for a solid fantasy start.(RotoWire, )

News: Davis came on for Shaun Hill after halftime and completed 16-of-23 passes for 192 yards and an interception Sunday against the Vikings. Impact: The initial speculation was that Hill was benched after failing to lead the Rams to any points in the first half, but head coach Jeff Fisher said after the game that he was dealing with a quad strain. The Rams trailed 13-0 at halftime and eventually lost 34-6, so while Davis' counting stats were better, it was hardly enough to even keep the Rams competitive. Hill will undergo additional tests Monday to determine the extent of the injury, but if he has to miss any time, Davis will likely start Week 2 at Tampa Bay.(RotoWire, )
