News: Beason (foot) is making progress and could be activated from the PUP early next week, giving him a chance to suit up for Week 1, the Newark Star-Ledger reports. Impact: We'll know more on Monday, but even if Beason does play Week 1, chances are his snap count will be limited. Still, he's close to returning and once he's up to speed, he should be a good source of tackles.(RotoWire, )

News: Beason (foot) was activated from the PUP list Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Impact: During OTAs, Beason suffered a ligament tear and a small fracture to the sesamoid in his right foot, which wiped out his entire preseason. However, he's recovered enough to be a consideration for Week 1, as he strives for his first 100-tackle season since 2010.(RotoWire, )

News: Beason (foot) is scheduled for an examination Wednesday that could clear him to return to practice, Art Stapleton of the Bergen Record reports. Impact: While Monday's practice was ongoing, the Giants' training staff worked Beason hard, likely in order forecast how he feels one day removed from a rigorous workout. Clearance for practice would provide confidence in his ability to play in Week 1, but that call is still up in the air.(RotoWire, )

News: Beason has looked good while rehabbing his foot, and there's a chance he'll be able to suit up for Week 1, the Newark Star-Ledger reports. Impact: The report is speculative, but Beason was apparently working out at full speed and appeared close to being back. When he does return, he'll start at middle linebacker and be a nice source of tackles.(RotoWire, )
