News: Johnson caught two passes for 27 yards on three targets in Friday's preseason game against the Jaguars. Impact: Johnson will likely finish his preseason with just the two receptions after being a healthy scratch for the first two games. He underwent a pair of minor procedures on his knee and finger back in January, but is all set to enter the season at full health. The Lions accomplished their main preseason goal with Johnson, which was merely to ensure that he got a tiny bit of work while staying healthy.(RotoWire, )

News: Johnson is on track to play Friday against the Jaguars, the Detroit Free Press reports. Impact: Johnson has been a healthy scratch for the Lions' first two preseason contests, as the team is of no mind to expose the star wideout to unnecessary injury risk, but it looks as though he'll see some tune-up snaps with the first-team offense on Friday.(RotoWire, )

News: Johnson did not play in Friday's preseason game against the Raiders, NFL on ESPN reports. Impact: Johnson's preseason workload is being carefully managed after he underwent finger and knee surgeries at the beginning of the offseason. Now more than seven months removed from those procedures, Johnson seems to be just fine, and is expected to be a full go for Week 1. It's quite possible that he'd be rested this way even if he wasn't bouncing back from an injury-plagued season.(RotoWire, )

News: The Lions haven't determined how much Johnson will play in the preseason, the Detroit Free Press reports. Impact: Johnson, who sat out Saturday's preseason opener, is on a very supervised workload this training camp in an effort to keep him in tip-top shape for the entire season. Whether or not he plays in the preseason should have little-to-no bearing on where he goes in drafts.(RotoWire, )

News: Johnson will sit for the preseason opener Saturday against the Browns, the Lions' official site reports. Impact: Johnson is coming off knee and finger surgeries in the offseason, and new head coach Jim Caldwell has apparently taken a careful approach when it comes to playing veterans in training camp and the preseason. Johnson appears to be no exception, and the team will rest its most valuable asset in the preseason opener.(RotoWire, )

News: Johnson's status for Saturday's preseason opener appears in question, the Detroit Free Press reports. Impact: Johnson missed Thursday's practice for personal reasons, but was back with the team Friday for their half-speed walkthroughs. Coach Jim Caldwell wouldn't say exactly whether his star wideout would take the field or not, but it wouldn't be surprising at this point to see him given the game off. The 6-foot-5 target has little to gain by participating in an exhibition contest, and this report does nothing to diminish his status as the No. 1 fantasy receiver.(RotoWire, )
