News: Taylor appears to have fallen behind Jonathan Dwyer in the race for the primary backup role to starting running back Andre Ellington, the Cardinals' official site reports. Impact: After the initial preseason contest, roles reversed this past Saturday, with Dwyer replacing Ellington in the backfield on the very first drive. Neither Taylor nor Dwyer has impressed through two preseason outings: 17 carries for 26 yards and one catch for 11 yards for Taylor, versus Dwyer's nine runs for 17 yards. However, Dwyer was able to punch in his sole goal-line chance, while Taylor failed on three opportunities in the second quarter Saturday. Taylor's deep-league utility takes a hit if he's unable to surpass Dwyer, an offseason pickup.(RotoWire, )

News: Working as the No. 3 running back, Taylor gained 17 yards on eight carries in Saturday's preseason game against the Vikings. Impact: After working as Andre Ellington's top backup in the first preseason game, Taylor was stuck behind Jonathan Dwyer, who also had a one-yard touchdown run. This battle may be a close one, as Ellington isn't expected to handle much of the goal-line work.(RotoWire, )

News: Working as the second-string running back, Taylor gained nine yards on nine carries and 11 yards on one reception in Saturday's preseason opener against the Texans. Impact: Andre Ellington played just one drive, and then gave way to Taylor, who later handed things over to Jonathan Dwyer. The usage was exactly as expected, and neither Taylor nor Dwyer (four carries for seven yards) had a productive game. Taylor remains the favorite to serve as Ellington's top backup.(RotoWire, )
