News: Asiata had six carries for 24 rushing yards and one catch on two targets for 13 receiving yards Sunday against the Bills. Impact: Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said earlier in the week that he wanted to even out Asiata and Jerick McKinnon's carries, after the former had just two last week to the latter's 11. While Asiata's carry-count tripled, McKinnon's increased as well, with the rookie rumbling for 103 yards on 19 carries against the Bills. Asiata seems to have lost his starting job completely, and while he is still expected to get the touches near the goal-line, the Vikings' offense hasn't gotten many opportunities from in close lately.(RotoWire, )

News: Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said he plans to get Asiata more involved in the offense this week after he had just two carries in last week's loss to Detroit. "We would like to get Asiata a lot more touches than probably what he got last week, and maybe [Jerick] McKinnon a few less," Zimmer told ESPN. Impact: McKinnon overtook Asiata as the starter last week and had 17 total touches to Asiata's four touches. While Zimmer said he wants to have more of a balance between the two running backs, he didn't indicate Asiata will return to his starting role. We'd expect Asiata to still have a minority of the playing time in the backfield as a result.(RotoWire, )

News: Asiata (groin) was surprisingly announced as Jerick McKinnon's backup for Sunday's game against the Lions, and he finished with just two carries for minus-five yards and one catch on two targets for 18 receiving yards. Impact: Despite starting the last four games in place of Adrian Peterson and scoring three touchdowns in Week 4 against the Falcons, Asiata's time as the starter always seemed to be in jeopardy, due to McKinnon's upside. Nothing was announced in the days leading up to the game, but McKinnon played well enough Sunday (11 carries for 40 rushing yards and six catches on six targets for 42 receiving yards) to keep the starting job for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, both backs figure to have a tough time in Week 7, as the Vikings travel to face a Bills defense that is ranked second in the NFL in rushing yards allowed this season.(RotoWire, )

News: Asiata (groin) is active for Sunday's game against the Lions. Impact: Asiata continues to receive the bulk of the carries for Minnesota, despite his lackluster efficiency numbers, but running room will be tough to come by against Detroit's stout defensive front.(RotoWire, )

News: Asiata (groin) is probable for Sunday's game against Detroit. Impact: The Detroit defense is allowing just 3.2 yards per carry on the year, so it's far from an ideal matchup for Asiata. Still, he has 60 carries and 11 catches over the last four weeks, giving reason to expect a reliable workload this week.(RotoWire, )

News: Asiata (groin) was a full participant in practice Wednesday. Impact: No injury was reported for Asiata after Thursday's game, so we only assume this is minor since he fully participated in practice.(RotoWire, )

News: Asiata recorded 72 yards on 15 carries Thursday versus the Packers. Impact: Asiata has 150 yards over his last two games. If the Vikings continue to start the woeful Christian Ponder, he needs to get more carries.(STATS, 4:09pm)

News: Asiata recorded 78 yards and three TDs on 20 carries Sunday versus Atlanta. Impact: Asiata isn't overly impressive to watch but he's a solid producer in fantasy, especially for those looking for fill-ins in Adrian Peterson's absence. He also remained a factor in the passing game, catching three balls for 22 yards.(STATS, 12:48pm)
