News: Kaepernick says he has been fined more than $11,000 by the NFL and he will appeal the penalty for what was called "inappropriate language" by the 49ers quarterback following a fourth-quarter interception in Sunday's 28-20 loss to the Bears. Impact: Kaepernick reiterated Wednesday, "I didn't say anything" when he and Lamarr Houston went at it - and Kaepernick points to Houston's comments that the quarterback didn't say anything offensive or out of line. Side judge Laird Hayes threw the flag for unsportsmanlike conduct. In the letter from the league informing him of the fine, Kaepernick said there was no explanation as to what Hayes claims the quarterback said.(STATS, 3:34pm)

News: Kaepernick had one of his worst NFL games in Sunday's loss to Chicago. Impact: He went 21 of 34 for 248 yards and a touchdown, but he also had three interceptions and lost a fumble as the 49ers blew a lead in the opener of their new building. His only other three-INT game came on Sept. 15, 2013 against Seattle. After a slow start last year, his fantasy production increased quite a bit. Stick with him.(STATS, 5:38pm)

News: Kaepernick completed 21-of-34 passes for 248 yards, with one touchdown and three interceptions in Sunday's 28-20 loss to the Bears. He added 66 yards on nine carries, but also lost a fumble. Impact: Kaepernick took four sacks and made numerous poor decisions in what was clearly one of the worst games of his career. The 49ers led 17-0 in the second quarter, and held a 20-7 lead heading into the fourth, but found a way to squander it. Kaepernick set the Bears up with a short field twice in the final 15 minutes, allowing counterpart Jay Cutler to throw for a trio of fourth-quarter touchdown passes. Through two games, we've seen both reasons that Kaepenick can be disappointing to fantasy owners. In Week 1, the Niners jumped out to an early lead, and then leaned on their defense and running game. This week, Kaepernick himself was the issue, as he made a few great plays, but also had more than his fair share of bad ones. There's still plenty of untapped upside, as the San Francisco defense doesn't have its dominant personnel group of past years, while the offense has an improved bunch of receiving weapons, though Vernon Davis left Sunday's game with an ankle injury. Next week brings a matchup with the 2-0 Cardinals, a team that appears to have lost quite a bit of defensive talent from last season, but has held up just fine through two games.(RotoWire, )

News: Kaepernick completed 16-of-23 passes for 201 yards with a pair of touchdowns in Sunday's 28-17 win at Dallas. He didn't do much on the ground, rushing for just 11 yards on five carries. Impact: Kaepernick looked sharp in general, but he didn't need to do much, as San Francisco's defense set him up with great starting field position. He didn't have the greatest preseason, so his performance Sunday was certainly encouraging. The exciting young quarterback should post strong numbers again in Week 2, facing the Bears at home.(RotoWire, )
