News: Hillis was released by the Giants on Wednesday, Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports 1 reports.
Impact: Hillis appeared in nine games last season for the Giants, logging 115 yards on 26 carries (4.4 YPC) before he was placed on injured reserve with a concussion. While Hillis shouldn't have a problem finding a team to bring him in for training camp during the upcoming summer, his middling production the last few seasons could make it difficult for him to earn a roster spot.
