News: Haralson was released by the Saints on Saturday, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Impact: Following the release of Junior Galette, it appeared the 31-year-old Haralson would have a shot at a starting job, but he doesn't seem to fit with the Saints' new plan on defense. It won't be surprising if he signs with another team in short order, as he's played either 15 or 16 games in seven of the last eight seasons, with at least two sacks each year.

News: With the Saints releasing Junior Galette last week, Haralson could start at outside linebacker.
Impact: Haralson is expected to compete for a starting spot during training camp, but at the very least, he should continue to be part of the linebacker rotation as a run-defense specialist. Even if he wins the starting job, however, he is still likely off the IDP radar in most leagues, as he posted only modest production in 2014 despite starting 12 games.
