Mitchell (hamstring) doesn't appear on Wednesday's injury report.
Contrary to what head coach Mike Tomlin said yesterday, Mitchell's absence from the injury report suggests the safety's availability for this weekend's season opener isn't in question. Provided his health cooperates the rest of the week, look for the veteran to open Sunday's tilt against the Browns in his usual starting position.
Mitchell (hamstring) is listed as questionable to play Sunday against the Browns, Dave Lolley of the Washington Observer-Reporter reports.
It seems that Mitchell has been battling a hamstring injury all preseason. Head coach Mike Tomlin expressed optimism that Mitchell would be ready to go. If he is unable to play, expect sixth-year safety Robert Golden to fill in until Mitchell is healthy.
