News: Vick signed a one-year contract with the Steelers on Tuesday, Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Impact: With Bruce Gradkowski (dislocated finger) landing on injured reserve, Vick will provide the Steelers with a veteran option behind Ben Roethlisberger. The 35-year-old Vick isn't quite as dynamic these days and barely completed over 50 percent of his passes with the Jets last season, but his greater body of NFL experience probably makes him more reliable insurance at the quarterback spot than Landry Jones.

News: Vick will meet with the Steelers on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports.
Impact: Bruce Gradkowski, who is competing with Landry Jones to serve as the Steelers' backup quarterback, needs surgery on a dislocated finger on his non-throwing hand. Pittsburgh doesn't seem like a particularly good fit for Vick, who completed just 52.9 percent of his passes for the Jets last season. At this point in the preseason, the Steelers would probably be better off sticking with Jones as the backup if Gradkowski isn't ready by Week 1.

News: The Steelers signed Vick to a one-year deal on Tuesday night, hopeful there's enough game left in the 35-year-old's still dangerous legs to provide the defending AFC North champions some insurance should something happen to Ben Roethlisberger.
Impact: Vick spent 2014 with the New York Jets, engineering an upset over the Steelers on Nov. 9 by throwing for two touchdowns in a 20-13 victory, his lone triumph during an otherwise forgettable season.
