NFL 5 43 What we learned in Week 4 31346839 Who are these guys? Who+are+these+guys%3F NFL

The Cardinals at 4-0? Seriously? If we're surprised, you can bet NFC West rival San Francisco isn't too pleased to be looking up at Arizona. The cardiac Cardinals pulled out another wild victory Sunday, going overtime to beat the Dolphins 24-21 on a field goal by Jay Feely (pictured). Kevin Kolb continued his solid start to the season, throwing for 324 yards and three touchdowns. He was sacked eight times and threw two interceptions, but as long as the Cards get decent play out of Kolb, they'll be a player in the NFC.

A 21-3 lead turned into a 22-21 deficit. A rookie quarterback was at the helm with just 1:42 to play in the game. Worried? No need for the Redskins to be Sunday with first-round draft pick Robert Griffin III in charge. RG3 calmly led Washington on a game-winning drive Sunday, showing maturity beyond his years. He completed three straight passes to move the Redskins from their own 20 to the 41, and then ran for 15 yards to the 26. Two plays later, a field goal gave the 'Skins a 24-22 victory at Tampa Bay.

NFL 5 43 What we learned in Week 4 31353163 No joy in Jacksonville No+joy+in+Jacksonville NFL

We could talk about the Bengals' potent Andy Dalton-to-A.J. Green connection, but the real story of Sunday's 27-10 victory by Cincinnati at Jacksonville was the dire Jaguars offense — led by struggling quarterback Blaine Gabbert (pictured). Gabbert was sacked six times and failed to take advantage of a depleted Bengals secondary, going 23 of 34 for 186 yards with a touchdown and an interception. To his credit, Gabbert doesn't yet have a Green-caliber target (Justin Blackmon, maybe?), but is backup QB Chad Henne waiting in the wings?

NFL 5 43 What we learned in Week 4 31353164 The power of Peyton The+power+of+Peyton NFL

Now that's what the Broncos want to see out of Peyton Manning. Sharp from the outset Sunday against the Raiders, Manning completed 30 of 38 passes for 338 yards and three touchdowns in Denver's easy 37-6 victory over visiting Oakland. The Broncos outgained the Raiders 503-237 and held Darren McFadden to 34 yards on 13 carries. Denver is just 2-2 so far with Manning at the helm, but the potential on this team has to scare the rest of the AFC.

NFL 5 43 What we learned in Week 4 31352289 Hello, old friend Hello%2C+old+friend NFL

New England offense struggling? Not anymore. All it took for the attack to wake up was seeing perpetual Patriots patsy Buffalo across the field. After a sluggish first half, the Pats exploded for 45 points to rout the Bills 52-28. Tom Brady completed 22 of 36 passes for 340 yards and three touchdowns, one to Brandon Lloyd (pictured). New England gained 580 total yards — the fourth-most in team history — while avoiding its first three-game losing streak in 10 years and improving to 17-1 in the past 18 meetings with Buffalo.

The 49ers and Jets were both 2-1 entering Sunday's game at East Rutherford, N.J., but nothing else about these teams is similar. Ever-confident coach Rex Ryan may have been the only one to believe the Jets would win this game, but even Ryan couldn't have forseen the 34-0 shellacking delivered by San Francisco. Mark Sanchez struggled again, going 13 of 29 for 103 yards and an interception. He also lost prime target Santonio Holmes (pictured) to a potentially serious left foot injury. With star DB Darrelle Revis already possibly out for the season, can even Tim Tebow rescue New York?

NFL 5 43 What we learned in Week 4 31352282 Good vibrations Good+vibrations NFL

They haven’t been talked about much this season, but, very quietly, Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers are 3-1 and leading the AFC West. Of course, it helped that their foe Sunday, Kansas City, delivered a pitiful display. The Chiefs turned the ball over six times and fell behind 27-6 on the way to a 37-20 defeat. It was an eventful day for Rivers, who made his 100th career start, threw two TD passes and surpassed the 25,000-yard mark passing. Lots of positives, but do the Chargers have enough to outlast the Broncos in the division?

Arian Foster. Check. Matt Schaub. Check. Andre Johnson. Check. Even with just those offensive stars, Houston is a powerhouse. But with more defensive efforts like they showed Sunday in a 38-14 rout of the Titans, the Texans (4-0) could be dancing all the way to Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans. Danieal Manning and Kareem Jackson (pictured) returned interceptions for touchdowns, and the now-rugged Texans defense knocked Titans quarterback Jake Locker (non-throwing shoulder) out of the game in the first quarter. Houston has a road game at the woeful Jets next, then three consecutive home games — so an 8-0 start is a possibility.

NFL 5 43 What we learned in Week 4 31352287 Back to earth Back+to+earth NFL

There was no Hail Mary (with help) for Seattle and rookie quarterback Russell Wilson this week. Wilson (getting tackled) looked like a rookie for the first time Sunday, throwing three interceptions as the Rams won 19-13 to leave both teams at 2-2. The Seattle players said there was no letdown from Monday night's ref-gate victory over the Packers, and we'd have to agree. This Seahawks team just doesn't look ready to challenge the 49ers and surprising Cardinals in the NFC West.

Well hello, Vikings! Welcome back to relevancy. Minnesota got a kickoff return TD from Percy Harvin (pictured) and a punt return TD from Marcus Sherels in a 20-13 victory Sunday over the suddenly troubled Lions. The Vikings, who improved to 3-1 and lead the NFC North, also got 102 yards rushing from star Adrian Peterson — his first game with more than 100 yards rushing since Oct. 23, 2011. The Lions (1-3), meanwhile, are in disarray. They lost their third straight game and are the first team since at least 1940 to give up a kickoff and a punt return for TDs in consecutive games, according to STATS LLC.

NFL 5 43 What we learned in Week 4 31346838 Close 'call' at Lambeau Close+%27call%27+at+Lambeau NFL

A week on from their ref-gate loss to the Seahawks, the Packers found more controversy Sunday against the winless Saints. Up 28-27 after a go-ahead touchdown by Jordy Nelson (pictured), Green Bay was hampered by another bad call — this one by the regular refs — on what looked like a clear fumble by Saints return man Darren Sproles. The refs called Sproles down by contact, and the Saints were able to drive into field-goal range. It looked like déjà vu all over again for the Pack — until New Orleans kicker Garrett Hartley missed a 48-yard attempt.

NFL 5 43 What we learned in Week 4 31352285 Fumble and tumble Fumble+and+tumble NFL

Yes, the Falcons (4-0) are off to their best start since 2004. But are they really that good? At home in the Georgia Dome, against the one-win Panthers, Atlanta needed a timely fumble by Cam Newton (pictured) and a last-minute drive and field goal to outlast Carolina 30-28. Matt Ryan had another big day for the Falcons, connecting early and often with Roddy White, but the Falcons should have been more commanding against a Panthers team that was blasted 36-7 by a depleted Giants squad last week.

After spending three weeks getting beat up and turnover the ball over at a blinding pace, Michael Vick had the crosshairs squarely on him in Week 4's Sunday night game. Not making things easier: the champion Giants were in town. But Vick and the Eagles were turnover-free and the embattled QB led Philadelphia on a 75-yard drive that led to a field goal and the lead with less than two minutes left. And when Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes came up short on a 54-yard attempt in the game's closing seconds, Vick and the Eagles had a 19-17 win and a 3-1 record.
