Really? This is the Monday Night Football game? If not for fantasy owners having one last chance to win their weekly matchup, would anyone be watching these teams that are a combined 1-10? I’m only kidding … slightly.

There isn’t much left to be said about this game that hasn’t already been covered, from the return of Peyton Manning to Indianapolis to the Colts' opportunity to establish themselves as a true contender in the AFC. Regardless of all the hype, this game is going to be won on defense. The Colts will need to focus on stopping Manning but not allowing any of the Broncos' three running backs to get loose on their 31st-ranked rushing defense. The Broncos will get Von Miller back for the first time this season but are dead last in passing defense and can’t afford to let T.Y. Hilton get behind them. Neither defense is going to stop the other offense in its tracks, but the one that avoids giving up the big play will win the game.

In their last four games, the Texans offense has produced just two touchdowns while opposing defenses have scored four touchdowns themselves! Case Keenum will start his first game in the NFL and he didn’t pick a very good weekend to win the job. Kansas City has the top-ranked scoring defense but more importantly to this game, they are also No. 1 in interceptions, fumble recoveries and defensive touchdowns. The Chiefs have scored a league-high 67 points off turnovers and that is sure to rise with an inexperienced quarterback behind center. Arrowhead may break another noise record as the Chiefs will improve to 7-0.

The Ravens and Steelers are both having disappointing seasons and it is mianly because they have gotten away from what has defined them historically. Both of these teams have typically been the most physical and powerful running teams in the leage … but they aren’t even close this year. In fact, this game will feature the three worst yards-per-carry backs in the NFL. Ray Rice, Bernard Peirce and Le’Veon Bell are all averaging fewer than 2.8 yards per carry and Rice has yet to have a run longer than 14 yards on the season. I’m going to pick the Steelers at home as the Ravens still try to integrate Eugene Monroe along the offensive line.

Aaron Rodgers is barely in the top 10 in passing yards this season and will now play the Browns with an even more depleted receiving corps. The Browns will surely move Joe Haden to either side of the field as he will blanket Jordy Nelson on every down. If he is as successful as he has been so far this season, Rodgers might as well not even look in his direction. That means tight end Jermichael Finley is going to have to become a reliable target, which will be challenging considering his inconsistency with both route discipline and drops. It’s hard to pick against the Packers, particularly at home, but with the depleted passing offense and the Browns' seventh-best rushing defense, they are going to struggle. I’ll go with the Packers but with very little confidence.

After their 1-2 start, the 49ers have won three straight and have scored an average of 20 points more per game during the last three weeks. Colin Kaepernick has yet to look himself this season, but he is steadily putting together better games. He had his best game since Week 1 last Sunday, but he may fall back into a slump this weekend if for no other reason than Alterrraun Verner. Verner is quietly having the best year of all the elite corners in the NFL and will all but shut Anquan Boldin down for the entire game. The team may even line him up over Vernon Davis if needed. I think the 49ers still win, but it will be at the hands of the rushing attack more than Kaepernick through the air. His focus this week should be ball control and possession.

This is a nightmare matchup for the Redskins as the Bears are the third-best scoring offense in the NFL and Washington ranks as the 27th defense in scoring, total yards and rushing. Running back Matt Forte, one of the most talented players in the league no one ever talks about, should have a field day both through the air and on the ground. Although he has yet to have a 100-yard rushing day this season, he still has the seventh-most rushing yards in the league and is averaging 4.4 yards per carry. Add the other 244 receiving yards and 33 receptions and this is a weapon that the Redskins are going to struggle with. I like the Bears big … even on the road.

The Buccaneers are just one of three remaining winless teams and this will be rookie quarterback Mike Glennon’s first road game. He heads the league's worst passing offense while averaging just 12.8 points per game … only the Jaguars are worse. The Falcons have had their own offensive struggles with the hobbled Roddy White and Julio Jones lost for the season. But there has been one bright spot in the Falcons' passing game and that is Tony Gonzalez. He enters the game with back-to-back games of 10-plus receptions and is eager to help get the Falcons back on track for the playoffs. To do so, the Falcons need to win their next three … starting with the Bucs.

Ryan Mathews is coming off his best rushing performance in the past two seasons and he now gets to face the league’s worst rushing defense and the second-worst scoring defense. As Jacksonville will surely have to account for the resurgence of QB Philip Rivers, look for Mathews to put together back-to-back games of solid productivity. Offensively, Jacksonville has scored the fewest points in franchise history after six weeks and isn’t getting any help from its best player. Maurice Jones-Drew hasn’t had 100 yards rushing since Week 3 of last season and has just a season high of 71 yards this year. The cross-country travel is always a hard bet in the NFL, but I’m rolling with San Diego in this one.

This game features two of the best wide receivers in the game, but each has had his own struggles this season. As for AJ Green, he is coming off just his second 100-yard performance of the season and his first since Week 1. Calvin Johnson hasn’t surpassed 50 yards in each of the last two games. Both of these teams rely heavily on an efficient passing game and that means both of these players need to have a big game. If they don’t, it probably means their team is going to lose. I’ll take Calvin Johnson and the Lions at home.

Sam Bradford and Cam Newton are coming of career-best performances in passer rating. It may be a misleading stat at times, but it does suggest they were extremely efficient in Week 6 and are looking to carry that momentum into this weekend. In Bradford’s case, he only totaled 117 passing yards, but that included three touchdown passes and that was plenty in the blowout win over the Texans. Newton accounted for four touchdowns, three pasing and one running,  and that is something the Panthers are going to ask of him again. Look for Newton to have around 10 carries again this game as he gets back to what worked so well for him as a rookie: his playmaking ability when coverage breaks down or on designed QB runs.

This game will be won and lost up front as the Bills are ranked third in sack production while the Dolphins have given up 24 sacks this season -- the most in the NFL and that includes a bye week. Mario Williams ranks third individually with eight sacks and he should have the opportunity to get into double-digits this weekend. If he does, he will be will be on pace to chase down Bruce Smith as the franchise leader, who tallied 19 sacks in 1990.

Tom Brady typically puts up just pedestrian numbers against Ryan-coached defenses, but he figured it out pretty well last week as he put together a game-winning drive against Rob Ryan. Now he will face Rex Ryan and the fourth-ranked Jets defense. Rex will look to pressure Brady early and often and force the Patriots' wide receivers to read hot and make the appropriate adjustments, something they have been inconsistent with to say the least. Even with Brady’s pedestrian numbers, Rex Ryan is still just 2-7 against the Patriots in his career and I don’t see that changing. I’ll go with the Patriots in a close one.

This game will determine who will sit atop the NFC East as both teams are 3-3 and tied for first in the division. But neither team has done much to prove worthiness. The Cowboys' three wins have come against opponents with a combined 4-13 record while the Eagles' victims are even worse at 1-15. Nick Foles will start for the second straight week and I think he has a chance to earn the job for the rest of the season. The Cowboys have the 30th-ranked passing defense and he should be able to put up big numbers against them and then again in Week 8 against the Giants. With three solid outings in a row, I think he will win the job for the season.
