NFL 5 2720 Brian Billick looks ahead to NFL Week 4 31919255 Miami Dolphins at New Orleans Saints (Monday, 8:40 p.m. ET, ESPN) Miami+Dolphins+at+New+Orleans+Saints+%28Monday%2C+8%3A40+p.m.+ET%2C+ESPN%29 NFL

The biggest question will be whether Ryan Tannehill can keep up with Drew Brees, who has thrown for 300 yards in eight straight games dating back to last season. If he can, the Dolphins will be 4-0 for the first time since Dan Marino was quarterback and it wouldn’t be that far-fetched considering that Tannehill has outplayed both Matt Ryan and Andrew Luck already this season. The Saints have won eight in a row on Monday Night Football and six of their last eight home games. Look for Brees to jump out early and force Tannehill into a situation where he is going to have to get chunks of yardage to keep pace and therefore be prone to mistakes.

NFL 5 2720 Brian Billick looks ahead to NFL Week 4 31919257 New England Patriots at Atlanta Falcons (Sunday, 8:30 p.m. ET, NBC) New+England+Patriots+at+Atlanta+Falcons+%28Sunday%2C+8%3A30+p.m.+ET%2C+NBC%29 NFL

This game will feature the two teams with the most wins since the 2008 season when Mike Smith was hired as head coach. New England and Bill Belichick have 63 wins during that time while the Falcons have 57. Both quarterbacks will be throwing to the top two pass catchers in the NFL with Julian Edelman and Julio Jones but it will be the defense that decides this game. The Patriots’ D is ranked in the top 10 in most major categories including yards per game, passing yards per game and turnovers forced. The Falcons’ D hasn’t been as strong. While they did tally five sacks last week against the Dolphins, they are still giving up nearly 300 yards per game through the air. It’s hard to go against the Falcons at home, but this is too close to call.

If Terrelle Pryor is cleared to play after suffering a concussion last week, the Redskins will be in severe jeopardy of starting the season 0-4 and it won’t be because of RG3. The Redskins defense has been atrocious, particularly in the secondary and especially in the open field. Once opposing offenses get out in space, Redskins defenders are simply whiffing on open-field tackles that should be second nature at this level. The Redskins have allowed the second-most yards in NFL history over the course of their first three games and 32 more yards than last year’s Saints that turned out to be the worst ever. The Raiders are averaging 148.7 rush yards per game, with Pryor as the team leader. If he plays, I like the Raiders. If not, this team just isn’t the same with Matt Flynn at quarterback. I’ll take the Redskins, even with the cross-country travel.

Peyton Manning has thrown 12 touchdowns compared to zero interceptions and now he will face the leaky Eagles defense that ranks 30th in the NFL in total yards and 26th in scoring defense. Based on that alone it would be hard to bet against the Broncos, who have won 14 straight regular-season games by seven or more points -- the longest streak since 1941. The 127 points the Broncos have scored in the first three weeks are tied for second in NFL history, and based on how the Eagles play, the Broncos may post their highest point total of the season this week. All things considered, I like the Broncos to continue their winning streak.

This game will feature two quarterbacks that have faced their fair share of criticism during recent seasons. But the fact of the matter is, they are both playing extremely well to start 2013. Tony Romo is completing 72.2 percent of his passes, behind only Peyton Manning, and most importantly, has thrown just one interception in three games. For comparison purposes, he threw an interception in every one of this first five games last year. Philip Rivers also has thrown just one interception this season but has also thrown for under 200 yards in both of the Chargers’ losses. Rivers will need to continue to limit his mistakes while he increases his productivity because Romo is sure to pile up passing yards against the Chargers, who are giving up 470.7 yards per game.

Rex Ryan has started each season as head coach with at least a 2-1 record and this season is no different. His rookie quarterback in getting better each week and is coming off his first career 300-yard passing game, albeit with two interceptions. For the first time in team history, the Jets had a 100-yard rusher and two 100-yard receivers in the same game to go with Smith’s passing numbers. But Rex is winning with his third-ranked defense and is allowing opponents to convert on just 26.9 percent of their third-down attempts; only the Chiefs have been better. Jake Locker is coming off his best performance in the NFL, but the Jets well provide him with some unique challenges up front. Chris Johnson will most likely be a non-factor against this rushing defense so it will be up to Locker to make plays downfield, something he has been very inconsistent with.

Josh Freeman has been benched in favor of rookie third-round draft pick Mike Glennon, who will get his first career start against a defense that has been decimated by injuries with three linebackers being moved to the season-ending injury reserve list this week alone. Nonetheless, the Cardinals still possess the league’s third-ranked rushing defense, so Glennon may be relied upon even more. When he does drop back to pass, he may do well to look in Patrick Peterson’s direction. As strange as it sounds, Peterson has allowed 10 receptions on just 12 targets this season, including three touchdowns. Making the quarterback change so early is a big gamble for Greg Schiano, who may be coaching for this job over the next couple of weeks.

Joe Flacco earned his $120 million contract with postseason numbers that included 285 passing yards per game, 11 touchdowns to zero interceptions and a passer rating of 117.2 during their four wins, but he has looked much more ordinary this season. He has just 248 passing yards per game with a passer rating of 80 and has thrown just three touchdown passes in three games. He should have a chance to improve on those numbers as he will face a Buffalo defense that is ranked 28th in total yards and has given up more than 262 passing yards per game. The Bills secondary has been roughed all season and that trend will continue again this week.

Wembley Stadium holds nearly 25,000 more fans than either the Metrodome or Heinz Field. For the first time in the seven game series, those 90,000 fans will watch a game that features two winless teams. The 0-3 Steelers have the 28th-ranked offense and their normally feared defense has yet to force a turnover. But that is likely to change as they will face a Vikings offense that has the third-most interceptions in the NFL. Matt Cassel may get the nod over Christian Ponder, but I like the Steelers in this matchup.

This is a game that features two teams on completely opposite ends of the spectrum so far this season. The Chiefs have yet to lose, the Giants have yet to win. The Chiefs haven’t turned the ball over even once this season and the Giants have given it away 13 times, more than any other team in the NFL. The Chiefs have sacked opposing quarterbacks five more times than Alex Smith has been sacked. Eli Manning has been sacked eight more times than the Giants have sacked opposing quarterbacks. The Chiefs have a point differential of plus-37. The Giants have a point differential of minus-61. While the numbers heavily favor Andy Reid and the Chiefs, I wouldn’t count out a desperate Giants team.

Last year, the Colts had the 22nd-ranked rushing offense with just 104 yards per game. This season, the Colts are fourth in the NFL with more than 146 rushing yards per game. Ahmad Bradshaw rushed for an angry and hard 95 yards last week while newly signed; Trent Richardson added another 35 yards and a touchdown. If they can stay healthy, this may become the most talented running back tandem in the entire NFL. They should both be on full display this weekend as the Jaguars have allowed more than 30 points per game and have the league’s worst rushing defense. It wouldn’t surprise me if both backs rushed for more than 100 yards and each added at least one touchdown.

The Seahawks have a chance to start the season at 4-0 for the first time and are currently the only team in the NFC to maintain a winning record after reaching the playoffs last season. The Seahawks are probably the most well-balanced team in the NFL but Russell Wilson has struggled on the road throughout his career. He is just 4-5 away from Seattle and has yet to beat a playoff team on the road. The Texans are 2-1 but have played more like a team that should be 1-2 if not 0-3. For the fourth game in the last seven, Matt Schaub failed to throw a touchdown pass and he also threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown for the third game in a row. Now he will face the league’s top-ranked total defense, the No. 1 ranked scoring defense and the second-best defense in terms of takeaways. All things considered, I’m rolling with the Seahawks on Sunday.

Andy Dalton has posted a better record and statistics against the Browns than vs. other team in the AFC North, but this isn’t the Browns he is used to seeing. The Browns have only given up 300 yards per game, good for sixth in the league, and their 12 sacks are tied for third most in the NFL. Still, Andy Dalton should be able to improve on his 3-1 career record against Cleveland, especially if the Bengals can protect the football. Last week, the Bengals fumbled five times and had turnovers on four consecutive possessions. They can’t afford to do that again, even against the Browns.

This will be the 167th time the Bears have played the Lions, the second-most games played between two teams in NFL history, but it has been an extremely one-sided rivalry in recent years. The Lions are just 1-7 in Jim Schwartz’s tenure as head coach and they will need an efficient game out of Matt Stafford. Stafford has just three turnovers and his passer rating is nearly 20 points better in his three games this season compared to the last three, but he will be facing a Bears defense that once again leads the league in takeaways. That doesn’t mean there won’t be shots to be taken: The Bears are just the 25th ranked total defense and are giving up more than 294 passing yards per game. If he can avoid the big mistake, Matt Stafford has a really nice chance to earn just his second career win against Chicago.
