Our Super Bowl-winning coach breaks down all of the week's action on

Matthew Emmons-US PRESSWIRE - USA TODAY Sports
NFL 5 81 Brian Billick NFL Week 12 look ahead 31441952 Carolina Panthers at Philadelphia Eagles (Monday, 8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN) Carolina+Panthers+at+Philadelphia+Eagles+%28Monday%2C+8%3A30+p.m.+ET%2C+ESPN%29 NFL

These two teams are a combined 2-14 since week three of this season. Each team has a record of 1-7 and there isn’t another team in the NFL that has fewer wins during that eight game span. Mike Vick has yet to play since suffering a concussion during Week 10 and will likely give way to Nick Foles, who will start just his second game as a pro. As for the Panthers, Cam Newton is throwing for an average of 50 fewer yards per game during the first ten games this season compared to his phenomenal rookie season last year. Newton doesn’t rank in the top half of any major passing category, but he will have the benefit of playing a defense that has been less than inspired the last couple of weeks. Pick: Panthers

NFL 5 81 Brian Billick NFL Week 12 look ahead 31439616 Green Bay Packers at New York Giants (Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC) Green+Bay+Packers+at+New+York+Giants+%28Sunday%2C+8%3A20+p.m.+ET%2C+NBC%29 NFL

The Giants are just 1-5 in their last six games in November and are 4-10 dating back to 2009. The Giants are coming off their bye week but are still licking their wounds from a beatdown courtesy of the Bengals in Week 10. Speaking of beatdown, the Packers have overcome some notable injuries this season. Players like Greg Jennings, Cedric Benson, Sam Shields, Jordy Nelson, Charles Woodson and Desmond Bishop have all missed significant time. But they dealt with the same issue in 2010 and that ended up pretty well. Pick: Packers

NFL 5 81 Brian Billick NFL Week 12 look ahead 31439617 San Francisco 49ers at New Orleans Saints (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX) San+Francisco+49ers+at+New+Orleans+Saints+%28Sunday%2C+4%3A25+p.m.+ET%2C+FOX%29 NFL

Colin Kaepernick (pictured) was named the starting quarterback for the 49ers because of his “hot hand” and that hand is really hot after throwing for 243 yards and two touchdowns last week against one of the most feared defenses in the NFL. As soon as Kaepernick begins to cool — and that can happen very quickly in the NFL — the 49ers will have a true QB controversy on their hands. Fortunately for them, they play the Saints, who are dead last in total defense and rushing defense and second to last in passing defense. Not a good combination for a team playing the league’s No. 1 ranked rushing attack. With that said, if anyone can compensate for a bad defense, it’s Drew Brees. Pick: Saints

NFL 5 81 Brian Billick NFL Week 12 look ahead 31439618 St. Louis Rams at Arizona Cardinals (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX) St.+Louis+Rams+at+Arizona+Cardinals+%28Sunday%2C+4%3A25+p.m.+ET%2C+FOX%29 NFL

Reports indicate that rookie quarterback Ryan Lindley (pictured) will get his first NFL start for the Cardinals this week. Lindley threw for more than 12,500 yards and 90 touchdowns in college, but he will be playing behind an offensive line that has given up more sacks than any other team in the NFL. Arizona has given up 44 sacks; the next worst is just 34. That will mean that Rams defensive ends Chris Long and Robert Quinn will be salivating on Sunday. Quinn is tied for eighth in the NFL with 8.5 sacks. Pick: Rams

NFL 5 81 Brian Billick NFL Week 12 look ahead 31439619 Baltimore Ravens at San Diego Chargers (Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET, CBS) Baltimore+Ravens+at+San+Diego+Chargers+%28Sunday%2C+4%3A05+p.m.+ET%2C+CBS%29 NFL

Much has been made about the Ravens' defensive decline, but while they are currently ranked 25th in total defense, they are still in the top 10 in scoring defense and are the league’s best in the red zone. Combine that with a successful third-down stop percentage and that will make Ravens defensive coordinator Dean Pees (pictured) a happy man. The Chargers have lost five of their last six and, not coincidentally, have turned the ball over 14 times in the last five weeks. There is hope though, since the Ravens haven’t played well on the road this season, with a loss to the Texans and a combined winning point differential of just four against the lowly Eagles and Chiefs at their respective homes. Pick: Ravens

NFL 5 81 Brian Billick NFL Week 12 look ahead 31444245 Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS) Pittsburgh+Steelers+at+Cleveland+Browns+%28Sunday%2C+1+p.m.+ET%2C+CBS%29 NFL

Subbing for the injured Byron Leftwich, who replaced the injured Ben Roethlisberger, Charlie Batch (pictured) will make his 54th career start, but only his eighth in 10 seasons with the Steelers. He is 5-2 in his Steelers starts and one of them came against the Browns in 2005. Batch has the league’s top-ranked defense on his side as they will face the Browns' 27th-ranked offense and a quarterback who has the league’s second-worst completion percentage. Pick: Steelers

NFL 5 81 Brian Billick NFL Week 12 look ahead 31444241 Buffalo Bills at Indianapolis Colts (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS) Buffalo+Bills+at+Indianapolis+Colts+%28Sunday%2C+1+p.m.+ET%2C+CBS%29 NFL

Andrew Luck (pictured) has the most passing yards of any other rookie quarterback in his first 10 games in the NFL. What's worse for the Bills, Luck has been at his best at home. When playing in Indianapolis, Luck is averaging more than 300 yards per game and maintains an 8:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio. The Bills will rely on CJ Spiller, who has the fifth-most yards from scrimmage and should benefit from a defense that has been charitable to running backs this season. Spiller has more than 100 yards from scrimmage in each of his last five games and should easily make it six after Sunday, but it still won’t be enough. Pick: Colts

NFL 5 81 Brian Billick NFL Week 12 look ahead 31439614 Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS) Tennessee+Titans+at+Jacksonville+Jaguars+%28Sunday%2C+1+p.m.+ET%2C+CBS%29 NFL

The Titans are playing better than their record suggests. They sit at 4-6, but five of their six losses have come against teams that currently maintain a winning record. In his first start after returning from injury last week, Jake Locker (left) had two touchdown passes and zero interceptions and he should easily parlay that success against the Jaguars’ 31st-ranked defense. Similarly, Chad Henne (right) was impressive last week in relief of Blaine Gabbert, who has been put on IR with a shoulder injury. Henne will look to Justin Blackmon, with whom he has found a quick chemistry as the latter caught seven balls for 236 yards last week — good for the third-best outing by a rookie wide receiver in league history. Pick: Titans

NFL 5 81 Brian Billick NFL Week 12 look ahead 31444242 Oakland Raiders at Cincinnati Bengals (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS) Oakland+Raiders+at+Cincinnati+Bengals+%28Sunday%2C+1+p.m.+ET%2C+CBS%29 NFL

When Carson Palmer (left) initially asked for a trade, the Bengals refused and Palmer stayed true to his word and sat out. However, the Bengals had a backup plan. That backup plan was Andy Dalton (right). The Bengals drafted Dalton and he became one of only six rookies in history to be named to the Pro Bowl. Dalton’s early success made the Bengals' brass comfortable in parting with Palmer and they did so, dealing him to the Raiders for a first-round pick and a conditional second-round pick. Now he returns for the first time to face his former team. Pick: Bengals

NFL 5 81 Brian Billick NFL Week 12 look ahead 31444244 Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS) Denver+Broncos+at+Kansas+City+Chiefs+%28Sunday%2C+1+p.m.+ET%2C+CBS%29 NFL

The Broncos are winners of their last five games after starting the season 2-3. The Broncos are one of just three teams to be in the top 10 in both total offense and total defense. Denver's offensive coordinator, Mike McCoy (left, with Peyton Manning), has put up 30-plus points in each of the Broncos' seven wins. The sixth-ranked defense of Jack Del Rio (right) has 12 interceptions already this season, up from a total of nine all of last year. With six games left, the Broncos have the easiest remaining schedule as they will face teams with a combined 21-39 record. First up, the 1-9 Chiefs. Pick: Broncos

NFL 5 81 Brian Billick NFL Week 12 look ahead 31444243 Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, FOX) Minnesota+Vikings+at+Chicago+Bears+%28Sunday%2C+1+p.m.+ET%2C+FOX%29 NFL

Christian Ponder (pictured, No. 7) got his first playing time on the road as an NFL player last season in Chicago and now he is the solidified starter, but has yet to impress. He has 12 touchdown passes this season, but none of them have been for more than 20 yards. In fact, he has been altogether awful on deep passing attempts. He is just 4-of-20 with an interception ... good for a 35.6 passer rating. Even with their struggles last week, the Bears still have the fifth-stingiest defense and the Vikings are going to need Ponder to hit some big plays. Not likely. Pick: Bears

NFL 5 81 Brian Billick NFL Week 12 look ahead 31444246 Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, FOX) Atlanta+Falcons+at+Tampa+Bay+Buccaneers+%28Sunday%2C+1+p.m.+ET%2C+FOX%29 NFL

The Falcons have won six of their last seven meetings against the Buccaneers, but this is the first match between the two teams this season. This year, the biggest difference will be Bucs rookie running back, Doug Martin (pictured, No. 22), as he leads a team that has scored more than 27 points in six straight games. Martin has been good for 100 or more yards from scrimmage in each of those six games. Starting with Tampa Bay, the Falcons’ schedule continues to get tougher. Their final opponents are currently a combined 29-31 compared to their first 10 games against teams that are currently 38-62. The Falcons have beaten just one team with a winning record this year, but it will be two after Sunday. Pick: Falcons

NFL 5 81 Brian Billick NFL Week 12 look ahead 31439615 Seattle Seahawks at Miami Dolphins (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, FOX) Seattle+Seahawks+at+Miami+Dolphins+%28Sunday%2C+1+p.m.+ET%2C+FOX%29 NFL

The Seahawks are 5-0 at home, but only 1-4 on the road and have scored nearly 10 points fewer while giving up nearly five points more in those road games. Russell Wilson (pictured) has a record 122.0 passer rating at home, but maintains just a dismal 65.8 on the road and has thrown twice as many interceptions as he has touchdowns. The Dolphins provide him and the Seahawks a great opportunity to turn this around as they have yet to beat a team with a winning record this season. Their own rookie quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, has just six touchdown passes ... the worst of all quarterbacks who have started every game. Pick: Seahawks
