Sherman makes the play of the game, loses it on TV
For most players, sealing a trip to the Super Bowl with a season-saving play ends the day's drama. But Richard Sherman is no ordinary player — or interview subject.
What you just saw above is an epic postgame rant directed at 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree, but with FOX Sports' Erin Andrews the unintended target. Crabtree clearly grabbed Sherman's attention with some comments earlier in the week, then spent Sunday in Seattle relatively quiet, pulling in four catches for 52 yards. But Crabtree had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds when Colin Kaepernick lofted the ball in the end zone for the receiver.
But the fun wasn't over. First Sherman went over and said a little something to Crabtree in the end zone, getting a stiff-arm to the facemask — and a penalty — for his efforts.
Then came the fun with EA.
Afterward, Sherman explained his comments.
It was just the cap to big day for the man most widely viewed as the top cornerback in the NFL. Sunday began with a new Beats by Dre commercial, starring . . . you guessed it?
Bart Scott used to have the most memorable postgame interview in history.
As for what Sherman will do for the Super Bowl?
