Geno Smith makes his debut with the
New York Jets
Sunday, but it could be by default. Jets quarterback
dislocated his right shoulder in the team’s third preseason game against the New York Giants, FOX Sports insider
Jay Glazer reported
on the FOX NFL Sunday pregame show. The doctors popped his shoulder back in the socket, but according to Glazer, it’s a shoulder subluxation. Sanchez must wait it out to make sure his shoulder stays in order to play. Sanchez has also been diagnosed with a partially torn labrum and will seek a second opinion this week from Dr. James Andrews, according to
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen.
While Sanchez is inactive against the Bucs today, rookie
is Smith’s only backup quarterback.
