Arguably the biggest prize in this year's draft met with the media on Saturday at the NFL Scouting Combine and made some bold proclamations.

INDIANAPOLIS --€“ South Carolina's Jadeveon Clowney landed in Indianapolis considered as one of the top prospects available for the 2014 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-6, 274-pound defensive end hopes to leave cemented as the No. 1 overall pick.

"Of course," Clowney said when asked if he'll try to convince the Texans of taking him No. 1 overall. "You watched the Super Bowl. Defense wins championships."

While Clowney was poised and spoke quietly in front of a crowd in the media center, he made some bold proclamations during his 15-minute press conference.

"I just want to be the best, one of the best of all time," Clowney said.

He also noted that he would've come out early after his sophomore year if he was eligible.

Clowney can win teams over if he can prove that he is committed to the game and always looking to get better. His goal of running a 4.4 in the 40-yard dash wouldn't hurt, either.
