Kansas City Chiefs
, has sworn off his favorite thing: Barbecue. Heavens no! “It might be the hardest thing I’ve had to do since I’ve been here,” Poe told the Kansas City Star. No kidding. Not only does he live in the BBQ capital of the world, he also hails from Memphis, a mecca of the culinary delight in its own right. That sounds like torture So, how has he adjusted his diet? “I eat a lot of eggs in the morning, eat a lot of protein, grilled chicken, grilled fish, stuff like that,” Poe said. "I’m trying to cut out the beef and the pork and stay away from the fried foods. And stay away from the barbecue." As a result, he has shed 15-20 pounds and is in training camp at a "svelte" 6-3, 335 pounds. Someone get this guy an outfit for beach season! In all seriousness, we salute Mr. Poe for his dietary discipline. Maybe people will stop snickering at the Chiefs for using a first-round pick on him in 2012.
