That's more like it
After the hub-bub created by Sunday's midfield meeting between Bucs coach Greg Schiano and Giants head man Tom Coughlin, a little more attention is being paid to postgame handshakes in the NFL. On Monday night, after the Denver Broncos' comeback fell just short in a 27-21 loss to the host Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta coach Mike Smith (in black) and Denver coach John Fox played nice at the 50.
Oh man, when will this end?
Before John Fox exchanged happy times with the opposing coach, he had some, ummm, quality time with the officials during Monday night's game. Among the 'highlights' were multiple overturned calls on review, the need of replay to count how many players were in a huddle and an hour-long first quarter. And you thought Sunday was bad.
Yeah, about that being back thing ...
After Week 1's impressive performance in a home win over Pittsburgh, Denver QB Peyton Manning was declared all the way back to his former MVP self by many. But on Monday night of Week 2, he looked like a player who spent more than a year out of football, throwing three first-quarter interceptions en route to a 24-of-37, 241-yard stinker in a humbling loss.
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan (No. 2) gets this pass off in the face of pressure from Denver Broncos outside linebacker Wesley Woodyard (No. 52) and middle linebacker Joe Mays (No. 51) during the first half Monday. Ryan, after a big Week 1, was solid again with 219 yards, 2 TDs and no interceptions on 67-percent passing.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White celebrates a third-quarter touchdown in Monday night's win. After Julio Jones was the Falcons' receiving star in Week 1, White was Matt Ryan's main man in Week 2, catching eight passes for 102 yards and this score.
Atlanta Falcons cornerback Asante Samuel (No. 22) breaks up this pass intended for Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Stokley (No. 14) in the end zone during the first half Monday. Stokley finished with three catches for 27 yards and no scores.

Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle Vance Walker (No. 99) gets one of the Falcons' three sacks of Peyton Manning on Monday. The Broncos fell to 1-1 in the 27-21 loss, while the Falcons improved to 2-0, one of the NFL's most impressive teams in the early going.
