Brady’s interest in inflation levels
Brady told Patriots’ equipment staff that he wanted the footballs inflated at the lowest level, according to Goodell. Brady reviewed a copy of the playing rules that addressed inflation of footballs and instructed the equipment staff to show a copy to the game officials. Jim McNally, one of the Patriots’ staff members, told the head official that Brady wanted the balls inflated at the minimum PSI of 12.5.

McNally takes balls behind closed doors
Shortly after Anderson confirmed the balls met the NFL’s requirements, equipment trainer Jim McNally left the officials’ locker room with the Patriots’ footballs and went into a bathroom where he remained behind a locked door for approximately one minute and 40 seconds. Other referees interviewed by the investigators said McNally’s actions were a breach of protocol.
