Instagram isn’t just a fad. NFL players have taken to the social media tool, posting photos of their off-the-field exploits and hobbies during their downtime. So we here at FOXSports.com present our Instagram Power Rankings, where we count down the top 10 images from the previous week. Let’s get to work. — Sid Saraf
It's not easy being a rookie. You're around hardened veterans, you're trying to learn your role on the team and all without making any mistakes. Sometimes it takes someone who has been around for a few years to show you the ropes. "Shout out to Carson Palmer for his support & encouragement" That's good! As you can tell from the photo, it seems Carson has taken time to tutor the Honeybadger. And what's even better, young Tyrann is listening and appreciating the guidance. I think he's going to make it in this league.
The Seahawks safety makes regular appearances on these rankings. He deserves it. When he's not punishing people on the football field, he's out giving back to his community. I like seeing that. "An amazing event yesterday at the back pack give away school supply drive. Here's a few of the golden ticket winners." By the way, his T-shirt is pretty cool, too. That is some sweet swag.
The wide receiver formerly known as Ochocinco is riding a horse. "Early morning ride..." Anyone know why he's not on an NFL team right now? He's gotta be better than a bunch of people on active rosters right now. Strange ...
Matt Leinart has a party-boy image, but people forget that he's also a dad. And here he is with his young pup Cole. "Like father.. Like son.. Future QB! #materdei" That's Leinart's alma mater in the background. Something tells me that young Cole is going to shred secondaries in the future. But until then, he'll have to be satisfied with his PS3 and whatever else kids are up to these days.
Hey, remember the 1972 Miami Dolphins? Did you know they went undeafeated? Of course you know. Everyone on this planet knows because those geezers won't shut up about it. Oh, great ... here they are meeting Barack Obama? What for? What is this, the 41st anniversary? How is that special? Bah! "Here you go, Mr. President." Whatever. Nobody likes a showoff.
Wow, Colin Kaepernick really likes clothes and accessories. If it's not his hat collection, then it's his shoes, shirts, etc. "Checkout the colab with @shoepalace and @sp_phill they been holding me down since day one! #goldenstateofmind" OK, we get it, dude. You have a lot of stuff. Stop rubbing it in.
No, he's not giving us the finger. The Falcons defender is just showing us his latest battle scars. "You don't know my grind" Apparently not. Yikes, that's kinda gross. Props to you, I don't how you guys do it.
Ravens offensive lineman Bryant McKinnie snuck in and got this shot of the diminutive running back just trying to catch some Z's after practice. "Lol I just ran in the room & caught @rayrice27 taking a nap on his little cot & I told y'all those little pillows was his lol" Those are some tiny pillows ... for an apparently tiny head.
The 49ers WR has a tough road ahead after suffering a torn Achilles tendon before training camp started "Working hard everyday.. #grind #levels #ninergang #yungcrab #15" Here's hoping Mikey is getting after it every day. From the looks of it, he's getting some serious work done. And that contraption looks pretty impressive. I wonder how much that costs.
Game over. Once this photo came across, this week's competition was done. Evan Mathis is a big, bad offensive lineman for the Eagles. People fear him. Then as soon as his daughter Lee Ila shows up, he melts. "She got to see her daddy practice." I'm not really a mushy person, but that photo is pretty damn cute. Congrats, Evan ... you and your little girl have taken this week's title. See you next week!
