News: Lorig has lost the Saints' starting fullback job to Austin Johnson, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports, and is a candidate to be cut.
Impact: There was some excitement for Lorig's signing last offseason, as he has proven in his career to be a capable receiver, and the Saints love to utilize their fullbacks and tight ends around the goal line. Lorig, however, missed all of training camp last year and the first six games of the 2014 regular season with a significant ankle injury. With Johnson having seized the job last season and maintaining his hold on it this preseason, Lorig's position on the Saints' final 53-man roster appears to be in jeopardy.
