News: Ryans (Achilles), who agreed to a two-year contract with the Eagles in March, said he will definitely be ready for the start of training camp, CSN Philadelphia's Reuben Frank reports.
Impact: Given that Ryans suffered a torn Achilles in November, it would be premature to assume he'll be ready for training camp. Still, his optimism is a good early sign, and it won't be surprising if he's back at full strength by Week 1. Of course, Ryans' days as a useful IDP may be over, as the Eagles now have Mychal Kendricks and Kiko Alonso on the roster. Ryans won't necessarily be a starter, and even if he is, he may come off the field for passing downs.

News: Ryans has reached agreement on a new two-year contract with the Eagles, NFL.com reports.
Impact: Ryans' new contract will run through 2016 and significantly decrease his salary-cap number for this season. Although the veteran is coming off his second career torn Achilles, the Eagles apparently value his leadership ability enough to reportedly guarantee him $6.25 million under his new contract. In terms of on-field production, the 30-year-old Ryans is expected to compete with offseason acquisition Kiko Alonso, as well as Mychal Kendricks, for snaps at inside linebacker this upcoming season.
